The asbestos testing was quite pricey. $400 for four test samples. Now I cannot say that this was due to the contractor since no other professional ever returned my calls and Atlas was the only price quote. It is possible that they would have been the cheapest, if I had anyone to compare them...

Though listed as such via the website service here on Angie's List the company in question does not do removal or remediation of asbestos. They only test. A bit misleading, but I do not blame the company.

The key is ensuring that the asbestos tiles are in good condition, firmly adhered to the substrate, and not damaged or deteriorating. This method is only appropriate for tiles that are undamaged and securely in place. If the asbestos tiles are already loose, damaged, or deteriorating, encapsulating them with epoxy may not be a sufficient solution, as it might not address the potential for ongoing asbestos exposure.
