"In order to complete the job in a timely manner, the Project Manager, Pete Welsh, had extra personnel on site. In stead of taking 4 weeks as the last siding was installed, his crews completed the job in 4 days. I'm a contractor myself so the quality of materials and workmanship was important. I couldn't be happier or more satisfied with both. The job was an insurance project due to hail damage. As you know, insurance companies will only replace "what is damaged", Pete fought for us to get the maximum possible. They did such a great job I had the company replace the siding and roof on one of my rental properties.
Koodo's to Premier and their personnel.

"I wanted to hire someone local and found Dan in our search.
We called Dan to give us an estimate on remodeling our
?dated? basement.
He was prompt and professional and suggested ideas on how to
cut costs and make the overall experience better. He
removed all of our 1970?s dark paneling and replaced it with drywall. Knocked
down a wall to create the ?open? concept. Insulated the walls and painted all the drywall. He
also created a new storage area. Removed the carpeting and installed a laminate
wood floor. Refinished the stairs and replaced/painted all the doors. Since we needed electrical work done, he
recommended an electrician who did an excellent job.
We were going to renovate in stages, but
Dan did such a good job, we had him finish the whole room. He
renovated the basement into a functional den. His rates are very reasonable. We
will be calling him for future projects. He is now our ?go to guy?!"

"It was love at first sight with Kenny Kraybar. He looked at the job intelligently, said he'd get back next day by email. After a week of no contact, I called him: seems some sort of glitch - email not working. We agreed on price on the phone; he started 3 days later, the following Monday, 8:A.M.   Monday at 8AM, demolition began of the shower's tile floor, leaking since 1986 and defying earlier attempts to fix.  A hitch: the wall, with tile set on ordinary plaster wall board in 1950 was badly water damaged. The estimate went to $4700. from $2600. (including materials) for re-tiling the whole shootin' match over new cement board. He also replaced insulation in the outside wall, the shower head, the marble sill and rehung a tricky glass door. The job took 4 five-hour days.  We're delighted. It's beautiful. P.S. His cleanup, daily, was excellent; he doesn't smoke, he came with materials and didn't borrow tools; the waste water did not go in the john, per previous tile guy -- and, no annoying radio.
He also got a doorknob off so we could replace that. A very upbeat guy."

"

After receiving several proposals, we chose Ramsey Builders to finish approximately ¾ of our basement to add additional square feet to our house.

They worked with us on design, making several suggestions that other companies didn?t mention, such as moving our HVAC unit to increase the ?workable? square footage of our new office/5th bedroom, and installing an egress window so that our office really could be a 5th bedroom (thus even further enhancing the value of our home).  Also, as part of the planning process, they proposed moving the location of the bathroom to improve flow of the space.  They also worked with us to use all space ? for instance we added a closet instead of having ?dead space,? which improves the functionality of the space (right now, it?s a second family room and play room, plus an office that we can convert to a bedroom since it has the egress window and a ¾ bath within it).

Luckily, our basement flooded before work began, and Ramsey Builders spoke with the basement waterproofing company we chose (through Angie?s List!) to ensure that the French Drain system would meet our waterproofing needs.  It?s little touches like this that makes Ramsey Builders a pleasure to work with.

We couldn?t be happier with our finished basement.  From studs to insulation to drywall to painting to installing our flooring and plumbing, everything was done to our very high standards.  And, they helped us with some of the finishing touches like hanging our TV and baby gate, so we could move right in!

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

You can insulate an existing garage door. But while it’s a cost-effective option upfront, it may not perform as well as a garage door that comes with insulation. If you live in a colder climate—or if you plan on working in your garage and need a new door—you should purchase one with existing insulation for better efficiency.

Mineral wool wraps are the most affordable and effective insulation for crawl space ducts. They are easy to cut, last for a long time, and healthier for humans. Meanwhile, fiberglass wraps are cheaper but more hazardous and difficult to handle. If you do choose to use a fiberglass wrap, make sure you are wearing long sleeves and wear proper protective gear.

Whether you should remove old insulation before blowing in new insulation depends on your particular situation. Fiberglass insulation attracts insects and mold over time, so if it has been decades since your last insulation upgrade, consider removing the old materials before placing the new ones. However, most types resist mold, insects, and mildew, so once you get the go-ahead from your contractor that your space is free from all three, feel free to install the new insulation directly on top of the pre-existing materials.

The R-value is a rating that measures an insulation's thermal resistance—in other words, how well it insulates. A higher R-value provides more protection for your pipes, and all pipe insulation materials should have an R-value listed on the product description or label. Each insulation type has its own R-value, which typically falls between one and five for most pipe insulation. When making a selection, Energy.gov recommends choosing a pipe wrap that is at least one inch thick, and the International Code Council (ICC) suggests choosing a material with an R-value of at least 3.

You don’t need to staple insulation, as your drywall and studs will hold it into place. But if you already have a staple gun and staples lying around, it can help keep the product in place and avoid any shifting. But, most experts agree it’s an unnecessary step.

If you’re adding a vapor barrier, you will need to staple that in place.
