"October 2013 was the second time I had Dan from American Drain Cleaning & Plumbing do work at my house.  The first job a couple years ago was to replace the shutoff valve on the line to the outside hose bibb.  The second time (October 2013) was for the 3 jobs listed above.  Both times the work was done professionally and in a timely manner.  Both valve replacements were done with higher quality parts than the builder had used.  After the initial installation, the shower needed adjusting to run hotter and getting that done took a single phone call, and it was done the next day.  So I would say American Drain is responsive to calls after the primary job is done.  The cost for the 3 jobs in October 2013 included the hardware & labor. Based on experiences I have had with other plumbing companies in the area, American Drain Cleaning & Plumbing is more reasonable.  I would recommend them and plan to use them in the future.

"It was okay the first time. The gentleman came out and fixed my kitchen sink. The job cost $150 which was pricey but I needed it fixed. A week later the leak came back because the plumber admitted he forgot to do a step while fixing it."

"We could not be happier with the Puronics Hydronex iGen Whole home treatment system and Micromax 7000 drinking water system provided by Orbit Water Solutions. Justin, the marketing rep who sold us the system, was very professional and accommodating. Justin took about an hour to demonstrate a series of tests which reflected to quality of our water which had more chlorine and hardness than we expected. If you have concerns for lead, Orbit standard demonstration does test for it so you will need to have a separate test done. After some negotiation, we were able to settle on a deal which got us the system and financing for the next 10 years. Orbit provides annual maintenance services on the machine and there is a lifetime warranty on parts which really assured us we were making an investment to improve our water. The best part about it is that the system travels with you. For a small fee, Orbit will pack the system up and ship it to your next home if you move which was a big selling point for us. Orbit also threw in a subscription to PureSelects soap for the next 10 years which was a nice add-on. PureSelects provides every kind of soap or cleaning product you could ask for so it will be nice not to have to purchase additional soap products in the near future. Within a couple days, the installation team came out to install the system. They arrived on time but the installation took a little bit longer than expected. Turns out our the installed garbage disposal was too large to fit with the RO unit tank under the sink. Orbit was very accommodating though. Orbit purchased a new garbage disposal and installed it free of charge which I bet many companies would not have done. I highly recommend getting the larger of the under sink tanks for the RO unit. Even with the two gallon tank, my family has used up all the water in the tank. A 1 gallon tank would just not have been enough. The water in our house has been incredible since we installed the system a few months ago. We noticed an immediate impact to our skin and hair after using it and our drinking water certainly tastes better. Best of all, we feel confident in the quality of the water we use throughout the house to keep us safe and our appliances in good condition. We highly recommend the investment in the water treatment systems through Orbit."

"The house I bought had a cheap old toilet upstairs that was constantly running and just overall not that good. I was looking to repair it when I found that I had a leak on my shut off that ran all day and caused some water damage. I was going down the list of the service providers in my area (based off rating) and found Fabrizio's to be the first that could come out next day. I asked them to quote me a price for the work, and the first response was that I would save some money if I bought my own toilet. Unfortunately getting a toilet in that short amount of time would not have worked so I asked them to bring one. They estimated being able to be at my house by 1:00 but I got a call early in the day from Frank that said he'd be able to be there an hour early, and to verify the toilet I wanted. Frank showed up right on time, as promised, and looked into the work involved. It turns out that I did not need a replacement valve, it just needed to be tightened (which saved some money), and then he installed the new toilet. Throughout the entire time Frank was polite/professional and very thorough. After the job was done he also gave some free professional advice regarding some other work I would need in the near future, without requiring me to jump through any hoops. I would absolutely recommend Fabrizio's to anyone, and have already recommended them to my father for some work that was needed per my conversation with Frank."

"Pat McGinnis installed a 50-gallon electric hot water heater, along with a new laundry tub faucet and a new trap under our kitchen sink in our home on Sat. 6/13/2020. Everything went perfect. Pat is knowledgeable, professional, and, above all, a perfect gentleman. Now I can see why he has an overall 15 out of 15 A rating. And now, it's 16 out of 16. I totally recommend McGinnis Plumbing. You will have a great experience."

"I woke up on this particular morning to about 2 inches of water in our finished basement, thanks to a leaking saddle valve that I had self installed from Lowes about a week prior. The plastic piping had disconnected from the valve resulting in a constant stream of water filling our basement. After turning off the water to our home and unplugging electronics I searched Angie's list for a reputable plumber in the area while my wife started vacuuming up the water.
I called Bill Fusco plumbing and was told that the earliest someone could be there was later that afternoon. While I was hoping someone would come right out, I knew that after we cleaned up the basement my wife and i would have to go to work anyway so I was fine with this arrangement.
Around 6pm, the plumber, Mark, showed up and I took him down in the basement to show him what was wrong. I wanted him to replace the saddle valve with a normal valve to prevent leaks in the future. He explained to me that saddle valves were fine and that I had just installed it wrong. Apparently I had not made sure the plastic tubing was inserted into the valve all the way, so over the week the water pressure was gradually pushing on the edge of the tubing, and eventually pushed it out of the compression fitting.
I felt like an idiot, but I guess that's what happens when you're following instructions that are written in broken English at best.
Mark quickly grabbed a new compression fitting, trimmed the plastic tubing, put some plumbers grease and reinstalled the tube. At my request, he checked the connection on the back of the refrigerator and told me that there was no issues there. I would estimate that he was at my house for between 15 and 30 minutes for this service call.
I felt like a bigger idiot when he told me the price tag for the work - $145! I asked him if that was the normal price for such a small repair. He informed me that yes, this was the price for repairs involving refrigerator hookups. I guess even though I did the bulk of the work, he insisted on charging me the full price for a refrigerator hookup. I didn't think that was fair nor professional. I didn't fight with him over the fee because at the time I just wanted the whole process to be over.
I do not plan to use this plumber again. The last thing I wanted to do after cleaning up the mess from a flooded basement was to dish out $145 for such a simple repair."

"Price was great as well as the services performed. My let down was the follow up. I sent a message though Angie's List and left 2 voice mails. I wanted to have the caulk looked at because after a few months I was seeing a few soft spots that needed to be cleaned up and filled. I was also looking to have another 3 tier shelf added to handle the wives hair products. Will need to find another installer that can hopefully match the tier shelf I already have as well as clean up the caulking."

"

I had a small leak under my kitchen sink which could have turned into a larger issue. I'm glad that he was able to identify that the new garbage disposal was installed too loose and that a screw had fallen out during its use. If I waited longer I could have ended up breaking it and spending a lot more money having it fixed.

Overall the job was done timely he was on-time and even came out on a Sat morning before 8am.

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Hiring an emergency plumber is expensive because of the urgency and inconvenience, but there are a few things you can do to help keep costs down:

  • Minimize water damage by shutting off your water main

  • Clean up pooling water immediately to reduce damage and mold growth

  • Avoid using fixtures if you have a clog or septic system backup

  • Verify that your plumber is licensed before hiring

  • Call a few plumbers for estimates if you can afford a short delay in getting service

No, you don’t need to use plumber’s putty to install a sink drain. Other options are available, such as silicone putty or silicone caulk. Plumber’s putty is the traditional method and it’s easier to work with and easier to remove. It doesn’t need to dry before using. Silicone putty should dry before you use the drain.

Costs depend on sink type, labor, plumbing modifications, and whether additional fixtures need upgrading.

If your sink is on an exterior wall that isn’t insulated, or if pipes travel through a cabinet against an exterior wall that prevents heated air from circulating around the pipes, the pipes can freeze, causing them to burst. The best way to avoid leaking sinks is to insulate the pipes and open cabinets in the short term to warm the water line up and prevent freezing.

The main cause of bathroom leaks is seals and connectors that loosen or deteriorate over time, causing leaks to develop. It's important to stay on top of your bathroom materials, as toilets, showers, and sinks all have different lifespans. Toilets and faucets last between 10 and 15 years on average with regular maintenance, but different parts may have shorter lifespans than others.
