Emergency services offered

"I had a water leak with my roof causing some interior damage. I had placed a inquirey through servicemagic and received a call back from Vito at Four Brothers Contracting with 20 seconds and he came to look at the job within 3 hrs. - gave me a bid and promised to get to my repair as soon as we had a break in the winter weather. As a result the only opportunity to complete the job was on a sunday. Vito came sunday afternoon so I would have the repair done before the following week of bad weather. I would recommend to anyone - nice to deal with and very professional."

Small jobs welcome

In the wake of Covid, people are finding themselves surrounded by the things, and the ways-of-doing things, that made more sense then. Now that your back to work, I can help you tidy up!. With over a decade of experience building and organizing industrial facilities and office spaces, I know how to declutter your area. My processes are loosely based on the 5S methodology used it these settings, but with room for fun and flair. There is also an overall focus on accessibility and safety. Sorry, I am not a licensed inspector nor an interior designer.

TV Antenna questions, answered by experts

If you’re having problems with poor reception, here are some simple tips that may help improve the signal and picture quality.

  • Consider the position of the antenna: Could it be higher, is it secure, or are nearby obstructions interfering with the signal? For a directional antenna, you may need to reposition it in the direction of the broadcast tower.

  • Move any metallic objects: Metal can interfere or block reception, so if you have stainless steel objects or the antenna is near a wrought-iron fence, this could be a problem. Try to keep the antenna at least six feet away from metal objects..

  • Cable length: An overly long cable can reduce signal strength. If you don’t need as much cable as you are using, it may be better to exchange it for a shorter one.

Coax cable connects to your television, modem, or cable box. Look for a female coax connection on these devices. Your coax cable will connect to any of these. The other end of the wire runs to the service connection coming into the house.

The shorter the coaxial cable, the better. The further you run the cable, the more signal loss you'll experience. At 50 feet, you'll see significant signal loss, and by 100 feet, you'll experience at least a 30% drop in signal strength.

Annual checks for damage or misalignment and ensuring clean connections.

If your TV antenna is good quality and was installed by a professional, you can expect it to last between 10 and 20 years without needing repair or replacement. This can vary based on your geographic location, weather conditions, and antenna location.
