"I wanted my oversized tub removed and to install a larger walk in shower . Luis and his team came and immediate began working on demolishing the bathroom. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to move wastewater and solid waste to the municipal sewer or septic tank. However, for fixtures located below grade (e.g., in a basement), gravity is not sufficient.

The purpose of a sewage ejector pump is to actively pump this wastewater and solid waste upward into the main sewer line. Without an ejector pump in this situation, wastewater would have no way to exit and would eventually back up, causing a sewage overflow or flooding in your basement. If all of your home's plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity can handle the drainage, and an ejector pump is not needed.

The cost to pipe a sink depends on the location. Generally, you’ll spend somewhere from $150 to $500 installing plumbing under a kitchen sink and $200 to $800 installing plumbing under a bathroom sink. These costs could rise if you don’t have a plumbing hookup nearby and you have to reroute plumbing from outside of your kitchen or bathroom.

If you have some plumbing experience or are comfortable with DIY jobs, you can clean the P trap, tighten nuts, replace washers, and replace shut-off valve stems on your own.
