"Thank you for having us out to evaluate the issue. Being onsite is essential to accurately diagnose the problem and provide a proper estimate. We were initially informed that the water closet was leaking at the base. Upon inspection, we found that the tank-to-bowl bolts were the actual source of the leak, allowing water to run down to the floor. Given the age and condition of the existing no-name water closet—and how it functioned—I advised that it would not be worth investing in repairs. I did mention I would provide you with a written proposal, as promised. Before we left the bathroom, you asked about pricing, and I provided a quote for a new water closet. You mentioned that using the basement bathroom at night was not ideal, but also shared that a new water closet was not within your current budget. At that point, I stated that I personally wouldn’t invest even $20 into the existing fixture. You then inquired about a possible repair, and I provided pricing accordingly. The work performed was in line with what was discussed and noted on the invoice. As you were in the living room during the service, you may not have seen the specific steps taken. Despite the concerns you later shared publicly, there was no indication of dissatisfaction at the time of service or any follow-up call to express issues. We take pride in our work and value open communication, so we would have appreciated the opportunity to address any concerns directly. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to discuss the matter further."
