"Jim knew I was on a time crunch and his company came through. Not only did they complete the project on time, they did excellent work. 50year old drywall with tons of holes became looking like new. My kitchen remodel is looking fantastic because of these men. I would highly recommend them and I will call them on my next project. Thank you Jim Weisbrod and the wonderful guys you have working for you!"

"As part of a basement remodel we ended up re-structuring and re-framing the entire basement (new laundry room, bathroom, and a new family room). After some price shopping we hired Absolute Quality to take care of all the finishing touches and they did a great job. They were prompt and tidy, laying down plenty of plastic and other covers to protect our new carpets and flooring and explained every part of the process so there were no surprises (and no surprise costs). My wife selected several different colors which they included in their costs and the job took less time then we originally thought it would. Our basement looks great and we will definitely use Anthony again!

"Kathy and her team did a wonderful job on my home. She was able to advise on different colors and types of paint to be used. There were many holes in the wall and areas that needed to be repaired before the painting. They did a wonderful job and I'm very pleased with the result. They were flexible with me in terms of timing and cleaned up thoroughly after the job was done. I would definitely use them again and was very pleased with the final result."

Customers say: Quality work

"Eric and his team did an excellent job on our kitchen wall repair job. We had a pipe burst in our kitchen ceiling which caused water damage to the encasing soffit, surrounding drywall and door frame, which all had to torn out and replaced. Eric was responsive to my calls and texts, easy to work with and was able to work within the timeframe that we were looking for. His team of Josh and Christian came in and completed the job in a timely manner, were friendly and professional and did a fantastic job. Everything looks as good as new."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, if there is mold in your drywall mud and you then use it to build walls in your house—or if mold develops in your set drywall, like it can in hot and humid areas—it can lead to illness. Mold in your drywall (or other parts of your home) can make existing respiratory conditions or allergies worse, and the effect can be more intense for those who have existing health issues or compromised immune systems.

In most cases, no, you won’t need a permit to replace drywall. If you’re changing the floorplan of your home by adding or removing walls during the drywall project, then you might need a permit, but replacement or repairs usually doesn’t require a permit. Your drywall professional should be able to confirm whether or not a permit is required for your project. If it is, it’s likely to add between $50 and $150 to your total cost. Keep in mind that you will need permits if you plan to install new electrical wiring or plumbing lines behind your new drywall.

Drywall is safe to cut as long as you follow proper procedures, such as wearing personal protective equipment and using the right tools to score and cut the drywall. When cutting new drywall, it can release dust with silica and other compounds that could pose health risks. Leave cutting drywall to the pros, or wear a high-quality respiratory mask, goggles, and other PPE when handling drywall.

The short answer is yes, a sagging plaster ceiling is dangerous. Sagging plaster on a wall is something you should fix immediately, but it isn’t a major concern. If the same type of sagging occurs on a ceiling, however, you could be in danger of your ceiling falling in large chunks. When plaster sags, it loses its strength and ability to hold itself up. The bonds that hold it together are strong, though, so if a sagging area falls, it will take large pieces down with it.

Yes, walls on the top floor can be load-bearing if stacked on the floor’s foundation.
