"Highly recommend Kenders HVAC! Both our furnace and air conditioner broke down at the same time, which was a huge stress, but the team at Kenders handled everything flawlessly. They showed up right on time, gave us a very reasonably priced quote, and managed the entire process from beginning to end in less than a week. Their team was professional, efficient, and left everything spotless. If you want honest, high-quality, and fast service, look no further than Kenders!""

"I had the crew of Glenn, Brenden &Josiah to clean my air ducts. They were very clean and efficient. They explained everything and pointed out mistakes in the construction of my ducts with cold air returns. They also left information for UV purifier for my son’s allergies to review. I liked the fact that the work was hospital grade."

"My parents had used Low Cost Heating and Air Conditioning to have their Central AC replaced last year and when I was ready to replace my 14 year old system that was leaking refrigerant, these guys were my first call. My parents had recommended them to several others who they had done work for and they did not disappoint. Dawn called me back later the day I called apologizing for not calling earlier as they were in a seminar. They set up to come out the next day calling a couple times to let me know they were running late and that they were on their way. Keith pretty much laid out the price and explained everything really well and talked me out of a higher priced system because I didn't need anything fancy and completely trusted him. I made the decision a couple days later to go ahead and they were able to get me in a few days later as they wanted to do it before they started getting really busy with spring maintenance which was fine. The day came and they were a tiny bit late and they called a few minutes before arriving and got right to work. I showed them around and let them get to work. After a few hours, they were all finished up and Keith showed me all that was done and answered a couple of questions. They will charge you 40 dollars for clean and checks and 40 for service calls no matter what time of day and won't charge you anything you don't need. They will be my go to place when it comes to all things heating and air conditioning I had a new 3 Ton Heil 13 SEER Air Conditioning System installed. It included the condensor and coil, they also put in a new disconnect box outside and flushed the existing line set and also put in a new programmable thermostat"

Air Conditioning FAQs, answered by experts

In most cases, homeowners insurance will cover an AC replacement if it was damaged due to a covered peril—such as theft, fire, or storms. So, if your air conditioner needs replacing due to regular wear and tear, your insurance company probably won’t pay for a new one. However, home warranties often cover HVAC repairs and replacements.

Evaporator coils in HVAC systems typically last around 10 to 15 years. However, their life span can be longer or shorter based on factors like the frequency of your HVAC system usage, whether regular maintenance is performed, and environmental conditions. Regular maintenance, such as HVAC system cleaning and coil inspection, can extend the durability and efficiency of your evaporator coil.

Yes, having mismatched evaporator and condenser coils in your AC system can lead to serious issues. For instance, it can result in higher monthly energy costs as the system runs longer to compensate for the mismatch. This mismatch can also put extra stress on the system, compromising its efficiency and longevity.

Along with that, mismatched coils can lead to higher temperatures and humidity levels in the home. What’s more, using coils of different sizes may violate the manufacturer's warranty, as they are designed to work synergistically, and any mismatch could lead to repairs and system failure.

To reset your air conditioner, start by turning it off at the thermostat. Then, shut off power to the AC system at the circuit breaker. Some units have a dedicated "reset" button; if yours does, press and hold it for three to five seconds. If your air conditioner doesn't have a reset button, or if you are resetting it after a power outage, leave the circuit breaker off for at least 30 minutes to allow the system to reset itself. Afterward, turn the power back on at the breaker, turn on the AC from the thermostat, and set it to "cool" to test the system.

You should flush your AC drain line once every three months to keep it clear of debris and buildup. Keeping your AC drain line clean prevents clogs, backups, mold growth, and extra wear on your AC unit. If you live in a humid area or have several furry pets, up your cleaning schedule to once a month.
