We did not go with the traditional canvas bottoms that one sees in restaurant outside patios because of the expense and concern of the fabric getting dirty. To get the large dimensions they heat seal sections. They look fine. The perimeter of each tarp is folded over straps to reinforce the edges and sewn. The washers/ grommets were then installed approximately every 21- 24" around the perimeter. We measured the spacing on the tarps and installed the two-screw turn fasteners to mount the clear PVC tarps. There was one small section on one tarp that was not square and is too long to connect it to the porch. Pretty much the quality of the tarp was excellent. the workmanship was solid. Buyer MUST have absolute not smaller than dimensions. It took my husband and son about 6 hours to install all the fasteners and the tarps. You need to buy the screws to affix the fasteners to the porch.

He was a different kind of guy, talkative about himself being a Marine and EMT etc - he cleaned the heating rod or so he said he did - said it was full of carbon build up. I reminded him that is what he did the last time he was at my home - he did not remember at first - then he started with strange comments like, "Well I didn't set it up to need to be cleaned again" - who says something like that. I never would have even thought such a thing. He was also giving me a hard time about my home warranty company. Said they are rip off companies (especially the one I have - which other than long waits on hold, I have had no problem with) and they probably would not cover the replacement of a new heating rod if problem continued to exist. I said something to the fact that I had a home warranty but if he wanted to wait to call them until it happened again, I'd be fine with that, He immediately thought I was trying to cheat the warranty company - I was insulted with that, but that's not the worst thing he said... He looked around my foyer and said to me, " If you were not rich, I would charge you a different amount"!!!!! I could not believe what I heard! I showed him the door and ripped up his business card, told everyone I know what happened, and opened up the yellow pages and looked for someone else. I found a really nice guy - Jason Nichols - company name - Nichols Mechanical Services Inc. -He was GREAT. He is not listed on Angie's List but should be! Younger guy, very friendly, had no problem that I had a home warranty contract. He called the company of my hot water heater, found out I wasn't under warranty, he got my warranty reinstalled. He ordered the parts and came back a few days later after the parts arrived and installed them. My hot water heater is working great. He immediately sent me an invoice and receipt of payment from his iPad before he left my home. He was patient with my home warranty company because they were unreachable the day he came, so spoke with them another day. I also had him clean my furnace that day. His rates are reasonable and equal to all his clients. I'd give him an A for service. AP George gets a F in my book though. Also my home warranty company did pay for all after my deductible, and warranty of hot water heater paid for parts. Definitely disapppointed with the workmanship of this company. Handyman Matters might be okay for doing minor handyman work like changing light bulbs; fixing dripping faucets etc but in my opinion they cannot handle a major remodel project. We hired them to remodel my elderly mothers bathroom to make it easier for her to use. The tub was removed and replaced with a walk-in shower; faucets and shower head replaced and shut off valves placed on water lines. We purchased a higher sitting toilet and Handyman installed the tank and toilet. The self adhesive tile squares was placed over the existing linoleum. First issue - the toilet leaked. Installer insisted my mom did not know how to flush the toilet. Problem was the toilet was not set on the wax seal properly and water came out flooded the floor between the new tile and the old linoleum and the basement ceiling. When fixing this problem the installer lifted the toilet by the tank instead of the bowl and created a break in the seal between the bowl and the tank. The toilet leaked again. This time between the tank and the bowl. I had placed a blue deodorizer in the tank and when the floor flooded the blue water went all over the floor; a corner of the carpet in my mom's bedroom (now stained permanently blue) and the ceiling tiles in the basement. I was reprimanded for using blue deodorizers like that was the issue. The new floor tiles came up but he told us he couldn't do anything about it while they were wet. Meanwhile the bathroom smelled like an outhouse. We removed the floor tile because of the overpowering smell and found an enormous amount of pee water between the old and new tile. The shower was not installed correctly because shortly after installation the wall bowed out and water was getting behind the shower stall. The installer came out and pulled the shower stall away from the wall, tried to put in a brace to hold it and smeared huge chunks of cauking trying to cover the gaps. It was a horrific caulking job. Another installer came out to replace the floor tile. He didn't know what he was doing. He placed glue on the floor and then put down the self adhesive tiles. All this did was create the floor tiles to be able to slide all over the floor. The bathroom now has missing tiles; a horrific caulking job and is not at all professional looking. I cannot recommend Handyman Matters for any job. Everytime I go into my mom's bathroom it infuriates me on the unprofessional job and the amount of money that was spent for a lousy job. Something that I thought would help my mom and give her pleasure was turned into a nightmare."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/pa/monongahela/ace-handyman-services-south-pittsburgh-reviews-10452145.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"MILLER'S TRANSFER","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"PA","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Adrian K."},"reviewBody":"Horrible! This was do to a disagreement over moving a bowflex. I did not get violent with him but i did complain that as a mover he show be moving it. I was then forced to beg him to move me because i was screwed if he didn't. I actually talked to the police and i could have had him charged with harassment but again he would have then stoped moving me. He never even apologized. They planned out the work very well. Initial work was done very quickly. The workmen were polite and professional. They used plastic covers but left a large amount of dust. I expected that the floor where they installed the drains would look different than the original floor but it appears to be a very coarse, cheap, concrete that has a rough surface and does not blend smoothly into the original floor. After they finished work and we cleaned up the mess, we had the walls rebuilt where they had cut away the bottom 18". Luckily we did not install carpeting right away because at the first heavy rain an 8 ft section leaked. When we called about having this fixed it took a month and many phone calls to get a response and despite assurances from the secretary who said she was hired to address problems with interactions with customers it took another 2 months, 2 times where the company didn't show up for appointments and multiple phone conversations with a supervisor (Jeff) who would swear at me and hang up the phone on me. When the workmen finally came to fix the leak they found it was caused by improper work. The repaired floor was even rougher than the other areas. We asked Thompson's to pay for redoing the wall and door frame that we're cut open for the repair, but they refused, saying it wasn't part of their warranty. This company came out to repair a flower box that was separating from the wall it was attached to, fix some crumbling steps and clean the brick. It turned into a French drain and LOTS of money. They did not do any of the jobs satisfactorily and cut the wires to out outdoor landscape lights....

FAQs for patio cover service projects in Danville, PA
While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct home features. Porches offer a roof that protects from the elements when coming and going from the house. Generally, porches are on the front of your home. On the other hand, decks are generally built in the backyard of a home and offer no roof or protection from the elements, like rain or snow. Porches typically require less maintenance and upkeep thanks to the roof, but both features require regular cleaning and repairs to maintain good condition.
The cost of an awning is $1,400 to $4,400 on average. However, this cost could be as low as $100 or as high as $7,500, depending on a few factors. The type of awning you choose, the size you need, and your location all affect your overall cost.
For example, portable awnings you can put up and take down yourself range from $100 to $400, whereas motorized awnings are more luxurious and cost between $2,000 and $3,500.
The cost to build a deck is $8,025 on average. However, this cost can range anywhere from $1,500 to $22,000, depending on multiple factors, such as size, materials, and deck type. You can expect to pay $30 to $60 per square foot when building a new deck.
Cedar decks are often the most cost-effective option, ranging from $4 to $9per square foot for materials. However, pressure-treated decking, which is resistant to rot, is more expensive, ranging from $15 to $25 per square foot for materials.
Awnings are either fixed or retractable and can be paired with a variety of cover materials. Fixed awnings are a permanent outdoor feature of a building. These are highly durable and require ongoing maintenance. Once installed, the position of this awning cannot be changed.
Retractable awnings are more popular than fixed awnings since the cover can open and close. This allows homeowners to open and close the awning, depending on the weather. When not in use, it can be closed to allow for extra space.
Besides the type of awning, you’ll need to choose the type of cover. Your awning installation professional will review your options with you, including availability and costs. The types of covers you can choose from include:
Wood, which is durable but can be damaged easily by rainwater and fire
Cotton offers flexibility, weatherproofing, and easy cleaning
Canvas is highly durable and is a good choice for retractable awnings
Metal is sturdy but is prone to rust
Polyester is easy to clean and is a more breathable option
Polycarbonate is highly resistant to UV rays and is difficult to damage
