"We hired Rittner Electric after he came highly recommended by friends. We needed two ceiling boxes installed to hang two large chandeliers. Dave’s work was fabulous! He installed the chandeliers with dimmers and new switch plates. No mess, no fuss. These were crystal chandeliers and Dave took his time to patiently unwrap and hang the crystals. I can’t praise his work enough. If you are in need of similar work, Rittner’s Electric is your best choice."

"I'm incredibly happy with our install and electrical work. We had recess lighting and 3 junction boxes with fans/lighting installed. The team was knowledgable and professional from initial quote through to cleanup. They go above and beyond, investing in craftsmanship and quality, charging reasonable prices and sticking to their quote. I'll definitely be calling Freedom Electric for all of our future electric work."

"He came early, which was a surprise....he did call to let me know, but I was asleep at the time and didn't get the message. He knew immediately what was wrong with our garbage disposal and fixed it within a few minutes. I originally asked for a free quote, so I was taken off guard when he wanted the $45 for coming out. Had to go to the ATM to get cash. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend Billy for any work that needs to be done. Very friendly and knowledgable. Also, he is very inexpensive. We thought we'd have to replace the disposal, and he said that we could pick one up for $100, and he would charge $85 to install it if need be in the future. Quite a drop in price, as we thought it'd cost about $300 for the project."

"We needed to replace our 11 year-old heat pump/AC unit and called for an estimate. That was just before Memorial Day weekend (2019) and within about a week and a half a five-man crew had installed our new system. We also had additional electric outlets installed in our basement. All the guys were very nice and knowledgeable. Very professional. We could not be happier with our choice of contractor. The thing we really liked about them is they listened to us and did exactly what they said they would do."

"We really like working with Ian. He was able to work with us on what we needed. Just wanted to replace a 50-year old electric panel that was not safe for our new house and bump up to a 200-amp service. Not we needed 200-amps, but it is nice for any expansion or future projects we may have. HIs team was quick and took care of everything. Even contacted the township for permitting. And the township even came by a week later to upgrade the service line to the house to accommodate the 200-amp service. Feel like we are in a much safer house now! Appreciate IEC and will call them for any additional or service needs! (old panel on left - new on right!)"

"Used this company previously and again it was a pleasure from beginning to end. I would give him 10 Stars if I could. Referred William to a close friend of mine and she was just as pleased. We both sleep better during our bad Florida thunderstorms. A friend of mine lost their home due to lightning. They got out just in time couldn’t save anything but their lives barely. I urge all to install lightning rods."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For electrical maintenance in Carlisle, keep a non-contact voltage tester, GFCI outlet tester, and a basic multimeter for safety checks. Stock up on wire nuts, electrical tape, and moisture-resistant connectors to handle humid summers. Weatherproof outlet covers and GFCI outlets are essential for code compliance. Carlisle hardware stores, such as those on Hanover Street or near the town square, carry these supplies for quick access.

Helpful?

In Carlisle, homes built before 1980 often have outdated electrical panels that may not meet current safety codes. Kitchens and bathrooms typically need upgrades due to increased appliance use and GFCI requirements. Basements and garages can develop wiring issues from moisture common in the area, while outdoor lighting and service entrance cables may deteriorate from Carlisle’s freeze-thaw cycles and changing weather conditions.

Helpful?

Combining electrical work with other home upgrades in Carlisle is a practical way to minimize disruption and streamline your project. For instance, consider updating wiring or panels during kitchen or bathroom remodels, or coordinate electrical improvements with HVAC or insulation work. Many local contractors can bundle services, helping you save on labor and permit fees when multiple tasks are completed while walls are already open.

Helpful?

Electrical upgrades in Carlisle can impact HVAC, plumbing, and smart home systems. For example, installing a new panel may be necessary for updated HVAC units, and dedicated circuits are often required for sump pumps or water heaters. Running new wiring can affect insulation or vapor barriers, especially with Carlisle’s variable climate. Always coordinate with professionals to ensure all interconnected systems remain safe and up to code.

Helpful?

When reviewing quotes in Carlisle, be cautious of vague estimates, missing permit details, or bids that seem unusually low. Trustworthy electricians should provide clear breakdowns of materials, labor, and timelines, along with a warranty. Avoid anyone who pressures you to sign quickly, requests cash-only payments, or lacks insurance. Local references and knowledge of Cumberland County codes are important for ensuring your project meets all requirements.
