"The technician showed up for the diagnosis the day after I called and then required a credit card to order the parts and schedule the repair (total over 600 dollars, most of which was for the repair and not the part which cost under 200 dollars). However, they were totally unreliable. I was leaving for 2 weeks but no appointment was available the week before my trip. So I scheduled the appointment 3 weeks later. On the day of the appointment the website said the estimated arrival time was 9:30 AM. Nobody had showed up at 1 PM so I called their help number multiple times throughout the day and every time I called I was assured that the technician would be there before 5 PM. The last time I called was at 4:40 PM and while I was on the phone with the technician who continued to insist the repair person would show up, I received a text that the appointment was canceled (15 minutes before the close of the window). Nonetheless the technician said the text might now be correct and I would receive a call within an hour to update me. Nobody ever called. I had already provided payment for both the repair and the part so I rescheduled the appointment for the earliest possible date which was 4 days later. It is now 2 PM on that date and I have received no texts and nobody has shown up. I called the number for the support staff and got the same run around. I was told again somebody would call me within an hour to verify the time of arrival. I have been waiting but nobody has called. They insist there is no way to call the repair person directly and I just have to wait. I will never use this service again and I think it is a scam where they extract payment and then keep not providing the service."

After over a year of trying to get Mr. Cook to honor the explicit and implicit warranty on the door, I took him to District Court and won the cost of the door and labor to install. Mr. Cook has yet to honor the judgment, and so now I have to go to Clearfield and have a lien put on him and his business. If this is the kind of business you like doing, by all means, go with A.B. Cook & Son. On the other hand, if this sounds like a huge headache and something you'd rather avoid, then you might look elsewhere."
