Discount Garage Doors has been serving 18 counties in Central Florida since 1998. We have 14 office employees and 29 technicians and installers. Our company was founded upon the principle of repairing garage doors properly for a fair price. Our reputation is well known in the areas we service, and more than 70% of our jobs are from referrals or repeat customers. We are family owned and operated, not a franchise or national company, which allows us to monitor closely the quality of our work. We use the absolute highest quality doors, operators, and repair parts, each one undergoing a strict quality assurance program. Our standard residential service call charge is $35.00, but we waive this for Angie's List members. In addition, we offer a 10% discount for jobs over $100.00 to members. We do not charge extra for after hours calls. Award winning service.

Bizarre experience! They called shortly after I submitted my new garage door project to Angie's List. The caller said we cannot serve because you are blacklisted -- since 2007! Only then I remembered that I had an extremely unpleasant experience with a garage door company back then. If I knew it was DGD I would have excluded them to begin with. The guy who showed up back then was very unprofessional to the point of swearing at me and threatening me. I paid their fee anyway. My only regret is that I did not report them.

Well....wasnt' expecting to have to replace door opener. But knew it was in the card from 4-5 mo ago had it serviced. But this professional was very courteous, patient, showed me what he could try ...to see if opener could handle the opening the door ....ie buy me a little more time for the expense. But the opener could no longer do it. Sooo had to have it replaced....$$$. But he was very informative, efficient, polite. I'd Hire him /company to do the 2nd door whenever it gives up the ghost.

Discount is in the name of this company, let me assure like many other reviewers - -there is nothing discount about this company. The service and technician were great, I just think the name of this company is misleading. Next time I would try another company with hopes of fairer prices.

After a misunderstanding about scheduling, Chris installed my new door yesterday. (Oct. 16th). I must say that Chris was very professional and was unbelievable focused. He worked so hard and he explained everything he was going to do. My new door is so much better than my old one. It's quiet and has all new electronic. I highly recommend them.

I'll start with the fact I am happy with the work itself, and the professionalism of the mechanic. Not having had any experience in this area. I relied on reviews, and google. I fully expected to be treated fairly, and went in with that mind set. I was in a bit of a bind, and needed the door to work. So though the price seemed higher than I thought it should. I allowed them to make the repairs. Unfortunately for me. I did not check the parts prices until after the fact. For a set of springs that cost less than $40 from the manufacturer; I was charged $208. For a set of pulleys that run $6 each. I was charged $190+. For $4 worth of cable. I was charged $97. The total overcharge was $338 as I see it. I feel that this company preys on people that are being held hostage by their house. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. =

"We're sorry you feel that way. Unfortunately you've inflated the prices you were actually charged AND you neglected to mention the rollers that were included in that price and the extended warranty. We offered you a partial refund, it wasn't enough for you. Because you told us what we should be charging based on your 'research'. That's not how any business operates."

Not all that good. You had a follow up thing which was rigged so that there was no way to answer the question correctly, so that's why I didn't give you a follow up before. I called for this $39 tune up I got sold a replacement of the springs. Well the springs was broken that's fine of course I would have called her out and got other prices had I had not had a sales man in my face pushing me to do this for $700 which Sears did for $360 it turns out. So I was not real happy with it now of course he did put in the deluxe spring and I looked that up on the web and that was about $60 extra ?so the Sears job would have been over $400 but that's still less than $700 and I didn't have an opportunity to call around with this guy there giving me that so I wasn't real happy with the deal. He did the job competently all of that was competently done so I was happy with that but I wasn't happy with paying $700 for a $400 job.
