The door was reversing itself -- that was the problem I called Lester's for. AFTER FIRST VISIT: The whole experience was like a "sales call" rather than a "service call." I feel like I paid $89 essentially for giving Nick the opportunity to try and sell me a new garage door. His recommendation to replace the whole thing did not feel like an expert opinion, but rather like a sales job. What made it worse: Not only the problem I originally called for has NOT been diagnosed or resolved, the garage door was left in a slightly worse condition than before. Nick's initial diagnosis ("sensors are bad") turned out to be wrong. I have not heard any final diagnosis; so, I'm still not sure what the source of the problem is. The tenant told me shortly after Nick's visit: One of the sensors is not "green" anymore, and he is not able to use the opener at all (earlier, he WAS able to use the opener by pressing the button again at the last second to avoid the door reversing itself); it's all manual now. I don't mind paying for someone's time, if that time is spent for resolving the issue at hand. Nick essentially spent a good chunk of this "service call" to tell me the current problem is not fixable (without himself fully understanding it) and how good a new door would be. Please forgive me for not taking this as a credible expert opinion. AFTER SECOND VISIT: Lester's tried to rectify by a second visit. Mark came relatively promptly. Unfortunately, the result was the same: I'm told the problem is not fixable (I'm still not quite sure why) and the door needs to be replaced; the door WAS NOT put back to its condition before they showed up.

Amazing! A company that still believes in customer service! Called on Tuesday and work was done in 2.5 hours on Wednesday. They were on-time, professional and did an amazing job. HIGHLY recommend anyone in the Gainesville area, if you need anything related to the Garage door, give them a call!

Lesters was here at the time they promised. The job was finished quickly and professionally. He hauled away all the old parts. He showed us how to use the new opener and answered all our questions. Keith replaced the broken springs and put the door back on the tracks and greased and serviced the doors. I especially appreciated his patience in dealing with my deafness. He explained everything by using his mobile phone by speaking into it and showing me the text. Lester's installed the original doors 14 years ago and have provided excellent service since.

Lester's replaced an old broken double wide garage door. They came out the same day I called, told me the broken 30 year old door could not be repaired ( I already knew that due to how and where it broke). They showed us brochures of various styles, told us what they had in stock, what could be ordered, how long it would take and the prices for various doors. There was no heavy sales pressure and the gentleman even told us we could keep our old opener since it would do the job on any door we wanted.
We happened to like one they had in stock. The appointment to install a new one was set up for 3 days later. Lester's took care of pulling the county permit and we set up a time. The installer was there on time, disassembled the old door, installed new runners, springs and all the required structure for the new door. The whole job including cleanup and payment took less than 4 hours. Every single person from Lester's, from the lady who first took my call, the gentleman who helped us choose a new one, the installer, and Eddie who set up the inspection by the county once the job was done, were polite, friendly and courteous. It was a pleasure doing business with Lester's Garage Doors and I give them my highest recommendation.
Note: the price included the $200 Alachua County fee for the permit and inspection.
