"Nick and his crew showed up on the appointed day and got right to work. The result was a quality repaving completed sooner than expected. My property was treated with respect and the crew cleaned up after themselves completely. I have no problem enthusiastically recommending Five Star to anyone."

"I recently worked with Justin Watson from Watson & Sons Construction on four projects across two properties, and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Here’s a quick work summary: -Garage Floor (Concrete flatwork): Justin expertly repaired cracks and resurfaced the entire floor, delivering a smooth, durable finish. -Concrete sidewalk & steps rebuild: Two sidewalks, including a four-tier walkway, were rebuilt flawlessly, improving both safety and aesthetics. -Concrete Patio Repair and Resurfacing: Justin revitalized our worn patio, enhancing both its appearance and structural integrity. From the start, he provided accurate estimates and reasonable pricing. Every project was completed on time and within scope, with no surprises. His outstanding communication kept us informed every step of the way. Overall, my experience with Watson & Sons Construction was excellent. Justin’s professionalism, expertise, and customer-focused approach make him highly recommended for any construction project!"

"Mark may be the most responsive person I've dealt with in financial services.  He answers the phone when you call.  He responds to e-mails quickly.   He is available whenever you have a question - and I had questions at 6:30 in the morning, 8:00 at night, and on Saturdays and Sundays and I never had trouble reaching him.  He works very hard to find the best rate and terms for your individual situation.  He'll make recommendations and suggestions, but I never felt as if he was pressuring us in any one direction.  He allowed us time to think about things, talk it over, and make a stress-free decision.  Once the application was submitted things moved very quickly and smoothly.  The appraiser showed up when he was supposed to, approval came quickly, and then an individual came to the house for the actual closing.  Can't get much easier than that.  And as a bonus, the Angie's List coupon saved us $400.  I'm not sure rates can go much lower than they are now, but if they do and we decide to refi again, I'm calling Mark."

"The estimate I got was very high. They were very nice. They gave me a quote within 3 days of my initial call. There was 3 estimates because my insurance company was only reimbursing for certain things. One was for just roof repair, one was for complete roof and one was for windows. I thought that all three were rather high. The estimate was probably about $10,000. The estimate for just the roof was over $6,000. They were very prompt when they gave me the estimate. They emailed them to me very quickly. Knowing how high they were on quote I may not use them again in the future. "

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.

The method involves lifting settled concrete using pressurized cement slurry via drilled holes. This solves uneven surfaces and prevents further settling.

It restores concrete, prevents replacement cost disruptions, reduces trip hazards, and provides stability at a lower cost.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.
