"Sunny did a great job! I ordered 3 tables and they were delivered in boxes unassembled. Too intimidating for me. He assembled them quickly and cleaned up the area after. I will hire him again."

"Basement stairs were coming loose from the landing. Lemar re-attached stairs to landing even more securely than they were originally and he installed new vinyl plank flooring on the landing as I requested. He also cleaned up, sanded and re-painted threshold outside of the door, as I requested. Everything was done in a timely and professional manner and the work looks very good. Will have Lemar back for more work in the future."

"Stephen has done much more for us than build a new deck - over several years heâ s helped us with many repair, rebuild, and redesign projects - Stephen has solved major problems - he has the skills to build us an entirely new house but works through our old houseâ s problems thoughtfully -he has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the building trades - I highly recommend him!"

I'm a highly skilled contractor who's been in the home remodeling field for over 25 years and has just recently started my own company due to the high volume of work I've been blessed to receive. I enjoy creating One of a kind kitchens and baths. My skill set includes carpentry , plumbing, electrical, masonry, roofing and siding, flooring, painting and drywall. "I contacted JA drywall to work on some popcorn ceilings for me. Josh was very responsive and arrived on time to give me an estimate. To his credit, he did inform me that his estimate would probably be higher than other estimates I would receive. I decided to go with Josh because I felt he was honest, how he communicated with me and because he was available via telephone. Unlike other drywall contractors, who did not show up or were very flaky with the communication. Josh started the work on time and finished when he said he would be complete. Josh did a great job with my ceilings. The drywall was installed, taped, and sanded. I was very impressed with the work they did and I would absolutely hire him again. If you’re looking for drywall to be completed, Contact Josh and then call other companies and you’ll see the difference in communication. A+ in my book."

"I was very pleased with Bill and the work that he and his team did. I needed the two sets of deck steps replaced. Bill was most professional and kept me apprised of any changes that needed to be done that resulted in a quality result. The cost of his work was most reasonable. I recommend him highly."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, windows being painted shut is a fire hazard. Because windows painted shut may have locks that stick or cannot be opened easily in an emergency, this becomes an immediate fire hazard that should be dealt with.

No, you can’t completely fireproof a house. There is always a chance that a fire can break out inside or outside your home. Even if most of the home is built with fireproof materials, a long-burning fire can still cause damage. Still, fireproofing efforts can buy you additional time to evacuate and give you a better chance of salvaging your home after a fire rather than needing to rebuild entirely.

Asbestos has many beneficial properties, including fire resistance, strength, and chemical resistance. It is also an excellent insulator, which is why it was used in pipe insulation and other building materials for decades. For all its benefits, asbestos is dangerous for human health, which is why it was eventually banned from use in certain products.

Short circuits can cause fires, electrical burns, and electrocution, which can lead to serious injury or even death. That’s why it’s important to take preventative measures to prevent short circuits, like getting annual electrical maintenance and an electrical inspection every two to five years, depending on the age of your home.

Chimneys should either be sealed or waterproofed, which is different from sealing off—closing at both ends—a chimney. Waterproofing and sealing are both crucial steps to take to prevent water damage and the chimney leaking inside the house. While waterproofing is more comprehensive, both help safeguard your chimney, extending its life span and preventing expensive repairs.
