Since then, I have purchased 22 dinners for my husband and myself. All were tasty, easy to assemble and cook. The instructions were detailed and easy to follow. Each meal cost $10 per serving. The latest was acorn squash with sweet sausage / apple stuffing. It was very tasty. It's great to have all the ingredients included. I could never purchase such small amounts of the necessary seasonings called for in a recipe. I would just skip a teaspoon of this or that. Fresh salads can be added to round out the purchase a $8 per serving with a minimum of 4 servings. This suited us just fine. I tossed up half of the salad one day and the other half for a light lunch. The choice of dinners changes every week. Another favorite was eggplant parmesan. The meals that I ordered were ones that I had never attempted to cook in nearly 50 years of marriage. The owner delivers the dinner kits to your home within the Traverse City area. She did accommodate my schedule to permit my picking up the kit at her commercial kitchen. She also adapted recipes to omit foods and spices that I asked to be omitted do to food sensitivities. Cost went up slightly because some of the surrounding piping was replaced to get a good seal (old fitting leaked slighly with new valve). Only changed me materials for the extra work which I appreciated. Felt the appearance the of repair could have been improved. Perhaps instead of using a cheap plastic strap to hold the whole assembly against the all the wall some Pex hose clips would have looked a little better. This plumbing is visible in the garage near the garden hose otherwise I wouldn't care about appearance. When I investigated it, the noise was clearly coming from the blower assembly. Being a DIY guy, I cut the power to the furnace, and got out my tools. I was able to determine that power WAS going to the blower, but that the blower was seized (i.e. attempting to turn the blower wheel by hand showed that it was difficult to turn, indicating bad bearings). I disassembled the furnace to the point of pulling out the blower motor. (It was a Trane XL80, very easy to service). It only involved removing the flue, the control board, two more screws securing the blower assembly and *voila*, the blower assembly slides right out! Yep, it was seized all right. Problem is, it's Sunday and I am working the next day, Monday. Another problem is that my Internet research shows that the Trane XL80 uses a proprietary blower motor! What?? Sure, they could have used a generic one, but NO, Trane needs to make this one all fancy, with lots of extra wires and connectors. It costs a pretty penny, too, given that it's not anything terribly special (e.g. a 1/3 HP electric motor with 4 speeds). At any rate, it was clear there was no way I could source such a motor on a Sunday afternoon, so I waited and called Able Heating and Cooling 1st thing Monday morning. I spoke to the lady who answered the phone and explained that I needed the blower motor replaced or to buy a part from them and do it myself. She handed the phone to the owner, Kelly. Kelly was courteous and professional. He spent a few minutes asking me HOW I knew that the blower motor was dead, etc. (e.g. Did you check to see it was getting power? Did you check to see if the blower wheel would turn by hand?) After spending a little bit of time telling him exactly what I did, he confirmed that my diagnosis sounded correct. I told him that I was a DIY guy on a tight budget, and that I had a choice: 1) Buy a part from him and do it myself. 2) His team could come in and do the install for me. I explained that I had the system apart, and I gave him the serial and model numbers for the XL80. The choice would be made based on how much cash it would cost me out of pocket, and how much time and hassle it would be. Obviously, it would be less hassle if his team completed the repair I had started. Now, I know that some contractors refuse to walk into a homeowner-started repair job, as there is little to confirm that the homeowner didn't just botch the job and create MORE work for the contractor. After I talked to Kelly, two things happened: 1) Kelly decided that I had correctly diagnosed the job, and he decided to take the risk to complete the job for me. 2) He gave me a fair price for doing so. (He even mentioned - "Well, if you are right, you've saved me a diagnostic call and a 2nd trip to pick up the blower motor." I agreed to his team doing the work. Turns out they had a cancellation that AM, so within 2 hours, Kelly had a tech out at the house, and within 3 hours, the repair was DONE! I am terribly impressed, and the speed, professionalism, and reasonableness was just top-notch all around. If your experience is like mine, you will be very happy with Kelly and his team! A+
(P.S. I docked them 1 point on quality since the technician left the wires that he cut out of the old blower lying all over the floor and didn't clean up after himself. Other than that, it all works well and was well-installed.)"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/or/tigard/able-heating-and-cooling-llc-reviews-169574.htm"},"position":10}]}

At first,it looked like I would need an entire hose assembly, which was ordered. When the part came in, and the installation appointment arrived, he found a piece of glass in my hose and removed it, so I did not need the new assembly. That cut the cost substantially, which made me happy.

Hello, I'm Kevin, Owner and operator of Lionheart Fire & Hearth, LLC dba Refiners Fire Services. My goal is to provide quality service at an affordable rate year after year. If I can't fix it, I don't charge. When I service a direct vent gas fireplace, 80-90% of my service does not require parts replacement, just a bit of expertise in cleaning and adjusting and knowing when to replace a part and when not to. I also install wood stoves and inserts, install and service freestanding gas stoves, inserts and built-in fireplace, install and service firepits and BBQs. I can extend and install gas lines indoors or out and underground. Cold, windy, rainy days still ahead, if you enjoy a warm cozy and romantic evening with your spouse in front of the fire, but it's not working or looking so good.... call me! I will come out and inspect, clean and adjust it so it's warm and cozy I have been in the industry for over 20 years and now own and operate my own fireplace business.
"The pros were very friendly and efficient. Would definitely hire them again."

The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.
The cost of a gas grill burner ranges from $10 to $100 or more, depending on the brand. If you’re replacing one burner, consider replacing all the burners simultaneously. Although it will cost more upfront, it will save you the hassle of replacing a burner every few months, and your grill will cook more evenly and efficiently.
If your grill is relatively new or under warranty, it’s worth fixing. If the warranty has run out, find the cost of parts (usually a burner or grate that’s rusted out). If the parts cost more than half the price of a new grill, it’s worth buying a new one.
However, if your gas grill is a built-in unit as part of an outdoor kitchen, contact the grill manufacturer or distributor to check on warranty coverage. You should also contact a local gas grill repair technician to get an estimate for repairs or a price to replace your built-in grill.
Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.
On average, a gas grill can last from five to 15 years. Most grill manufacturers offer an extended warranty, varying in coverage and terms. You can help extend the life of your grill by cleaning it inside and out to remove food, grease, and carbon deposits. Protect your gas grill from the elements with a grill cover to prevent it from rusting, lessening the frequency of repairs.
