Small jobs welcome

"James Bickers and Tree crew did everything that was agreed on. Clean-up, even with water flowing in Gilbert Creek and a 10 ft steep bank they did a professional job. I am satisfied with their work and would recommend them to other homeowners/business' that might need tree service. They were by far the best price for the service that needed to be done. "These two men came to prune my oak tree. They are very customer oriented and gracious. They consulted us when almost finished with the tree to get input. We wanted a little more trimmed and they did it. We would use them again. The clean up was great."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

A chainsaw is the best tool to cut down a tree, but you may also use a handsaw or ax. You may also want to use a lopper or pole saw to remove limbs before cutting down the tree. Wear chainsaw chaps and protective gear, including eyewear and earplugs if you use a chainsaw. Again, if you’re unsure about how to use this tool, this project may be one to skip.

We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.

Trimming your palm trees once or twice per year keeps them healthy and robust. Caring for palm trees includes cutting off brown leaves to prevent wildfires and pathway obstruction. However, you don’t want to over-trim the palm tree. Cutting too many branches off will weaken the tree and prevent future growth. And it’s essential to have a strong, healthy palm tree during hurricane season to prevent safety risks or property damage.

Salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, and burning can all help dissolve a tree stump. You can also bury the tree stump in soil or mulch to help it rot naturally. Killing a tree stump prevents future regrowth, but you may also remove it by digging it out or grinding it.

Using Epsom salt to kill a tree stump typically takes between six and 12 months. While this may seem like a long time, it is significantly faster than the natural decomposition process, which can take up to seven years. This method is a viable DIY option for stumps that do not pose an immediate hazard. If you need a faster solution, you can hire a professional for stump removal or grinding, though this may cause more damage to the surrounding ground.
