Small jobs welcome

"Quick service , took down a 50 plus foot Douglas fir in hours. I was expecting to get on the roof and blow out the gutters but he did it as part of his service . Everything was cleaning up perfectly when he left hauling most of the tree off except what I requested for firewood. James and his team get an A+ and if you need any tree projects done he should be the first to call!"

"These two men came to prune my oak tree. They are very customer oriented and gracious. They consulted us when almost finished with the tree to get input. We wanted a little more trimmed and they did it. We would use them again. The clean up was great."

"Bill and his crew are top notch, hard working and knowledgeable. They were so careful with our property and farm animals and did a fantastic job! We hired another tree service last year, (Gonzalez) and paid way too much for bad work and they dropped a large limb on our house causing damage. BILL'S TREE SERVICE IS THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS!!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Many consider the Fraser fir to be the most popular type of Christmas tree, but which type of tree sells out near you can depend on region and decorating trends that year. For example, the Leyland cypress is especially popular in the Southeast, according to the National Christmas Tree Association.

Trees are beneficial to the environment and wildlife. If you have an old tree, but it’s healthy, it may be best to avoid cutting it down. However, if it’s showing signs of bug infestation, disease, or is potentially hazardous, then you should contact a tree removal company to cut it down.

If you are unsure whether you should have it removed or not, then speak with an arborist to determine what is best.

You can remove a small tree from your yard if there’s space for the tree to fall, you have the right tools and safety equipment, and you follow a clear plan of action. You’ll just want to follow the steps above carefully, and ideally, you will have experience doing similar tasks. If you have any doubts that you can do this project safely, though, you should hire a pro.

Generally, you’ll want to avoid pruning more than 25% of the tree’s canopy at one time. While pruning your tree is important, it’s possible to do it too often or to go too far. Again, this is why hiring a tree trimming pro to do the work is wise. However, if you do decide to DIY, going slow and trimming gradually is the name of the game.

The safest way to cut down a tree is to make sure you’re completely prepared and have done all the necessary safety checks, including double-checking your equipment is in good working order, you have plenty of clearance to fell the tree, you’re wearing all the safety gear, and you have a partner to help you (who should also be wearing safety gear).
