That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Our house is 102 years old and has lots of funky corners and uneven areas, and Avenues was great at making it work. The cupboards and counters in the kitchen had to be custom-built around an old chimney, and they did an excellent job. There is a step-down from the kitchen to the back hallway, and the guy from Avenues did a great job of smoothing over this transition so that it is even better than before. The crown molding on the cabinets helps conceal the fact that our floors and ceiling are a little uneven. 
When we met with Steve, he said that the demo would be July 9, the cabinets July 10, the floors July 12, and the counters July 24. These installations happened EXACTLY on the days he promised. This meant that we were able to finish our entire remodel in less than a month. 
I also appreciated that I never felt Steve was trying to "upsell" us on anything. He understood our budget and the type of kitchen remodel we were doing (modest budget in a funky old house). He was able to make good recommendations, for example telling us about which quartz counters would be most economical. 
It's important to know that Avenues was not acting as a general contractor for our remodel. We coordinated all of the other pieces beyond the cabinets, floors, and counters. Angie's List was a great help in finding someone to move the gas stove, finding a plumber, and finding an electrician. If you are willing to run your own remodel, though, I highly recommend the quality and price of Avenues for cabinets, counters, and/or flooring.

"Cabinets are great. Work was fast--less than one week. Final product was all I could hope for, and I'm very happy with it. A few minor issues. Clean up wasn't perfect--I still have a piece of equipment and a drill bit at my house that were left behind a few months ago. Also had some miscommunications--I thought they would provide cabinet pulls and they thought I would. Not a big deal, but had to make a last-minute run to the store for them. I also thought they would install the microwave surround they suggested, but it turns out they only do that if it's all there when they're doing the work (and even then they'r apparently not supposed to); mine arrived damaged and had to be reshipped, so it wasn't there (and still isn't installed...)"

"This is the second time I worked with Fine Finish on a remodeling project. I had the same crew as before, with the exception of one new assistant, which is great as relationships had been built from previous work. New to this project was the project plan which gave me a breakdown of exactly when key milestones would be completed by the crew and also gave me an idea when to make decisions on the cabinets we were going to have in the new space.  
Mark and his crew remodeled our basement space into a fantastic guest suite. We added some windows to add light into the area, and are very happy with the beautiful retreat and "spare" bathroom. Mark and his wife kept ahead of the details, offer suggestions, and were very responsive to our questions.  We're just about wrapped up with remodeling projects for a while, but we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to friends and family.

"We appreciate the high quality of John's workmanship, his integrity, reliability, and his reasonable prices. His work is a good value at $50-60 per hour. We know from experience that he stands by his work 100% and for up to four or five years. We had one inexplicable shower leak, and John spent hours and hours of his own time determining the cause and repairing the problem, at no cost to us. That's integrity! We were never without a bathroom to use. Because we were happy with John's work, we allowed the extra time for him to complete the job himself to his high standards. Bath 3 (tile shower and tub walls, two sinks, toilet, tub): Tore out fiberglass shower, toilet, vanity and flooring. Built new tile shower, tiled floor, baseboards, and tub walls. Replaced plumbing and electrical fixtures. Installed full-wall mirror, new tub, toilet. Bath 4 (powder room, toilet, sink): Tore out flooring, vanity and toilet. Tiled floor and framed mirror with glass border. Replumbed faucet. Installed sink, toilet, mirror and sconces. If we had more remodeling to be done, we wouldn't hesitate for an instant to hire John Erickson Construction."

"We called for an estimate and an appointment was made.  He did not arrive, so we called him after an hour.  He apologized and came right over.  Bob was a very personable fellow and seemed to really know what he was talking about and to fully understand the project.  We looked forward to receiving his estimate.  It did not arrive.  He emailed to say it would arrive the following week.  We never heard from him again.  We hired someone else.
