"From the first visit to my home from Sean for an estimate, to the crew that arrived to do the project I was impressed. Everyone was extremely professional. The crew arrived on time, the crew leader introduced me to the rest of the crew and explained how they would proceed with the project. They protected the work spaces with plastic from my garage to the crawl space opening in side my closet. They went to work and kept me informed about the progress. The whole crew worked very efficiently and got the project done in one day. They left work area spotless when they were done. I would highly recommend this company for any waterproofing project!!"

"Friends who know what our basement looked like before are flabbergasted. The information they send you after you contact them is super educational and everyone was prompt, polite, and professional. Wish we'd done this sooner."

"They did a very good job, and they were careful not to damage siding or surrounding landscaping.   Cleaned up the work area each day, and upon completion left the area looking better than before the work started.   The best part -- no more leaking water in our basement.   I waited to write this review until we had been through a couple period of heavy rain.   Thanks Q!

"They came up with a list of things needed to be completed. I have decided not to have anything completed at the moment. He was professional and prompt for our appointment. Everything went very well. I would probably consider using them in the future. There was a leak in the toilet in the master bedroom. He ended up actually making it worse. My husband was able to fix this problem himself."

"They did an inspection of the attic, and basement.  Determined the possibility of mice in the attic.  Set traps and returned a week later. Offered a year long extermination package that included patching access holes etc... set more traps and 2 other employees removed mice the following week.  We we probably most disappointed in the lack of professionalism.  We provided the ladder so they could gain access into the attic.  On the follow-up visit employee didn't use a ladder and simply pulled himself into the attic. The mice seem to be gone.  We haven't purchased the program.  Very pleasant communication with the office in arranging the appointment.  It was offered as a $99 coupon which was a reasonable price.  We considered the package but decided to wait to see if we still had an issue.

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

The best type of basement ventilation system depends on your budget, the moisture in your basement’s air, and the types of windows you have down there. You should consider all of these factors when choosing a ventilation system. However, the most effective method for basement ventilation is an energy recovery ventilator (ERV) or a whole-house ventilation system, which preheats or precools incoming air from the outside while also managing water vapor.

Methods include interior sealants, exterior excavation and waterproofing membranes, sump pump installation, and vapor barriers for encapsulation. Techniques vary based on the structure and severity of moisture issues.

“Basement waterproofing” sometimes refers to applying a waterproof sealant to basement walls, in which case you would use a waterproof paint, often made of latex. However, there are many methods you can use to waterproof a basement, including exterior drainage systems, interior drainage systems, dehumidifiers, and more. As such, the materials you use can vary depending on the methods you use.

Sandbags are the most common and efficient way to create a flood barrier at home. Some local authorities pass them around to homes before the risk of a flood. Otherwise, you can use flood-proof house materials, like burlap or woven plastic bags, to make sandbags and fill them with sand or cat litter. Make sure that when you stack them, they’re tightly laid on top of each other, creating the effect of a firm wall against accumulating water.

While water in your basement is unlikely to make you sick unless it’s coming from a sewage backup, mold is likely to start to grow in wet areas within 24 hours, and mold can make you sick. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), inhaling mold spores can cause allergy symptoms, including runny nose, itchy eyes, difficulty breathing, wheezing, and itchy skin. Individuals with pre-existing respiratory issues like asthma and immunocompromised individuals are at an elevated risk of symptoms when inhaling mold spores.
