Shades of Rose were fantastic to work with. Great communication through out our process, friendly crew of workers and the job was done so fast. They really helped bring our 1930's house back to life. Tyler, the owner was especially supportive when we changed the color and helped us find something else that we loved. Would 100% recommend!

I did not get the quality work. The prep work of sanding included pushing too hard with sander leaving grooves and marks on siding 50% of house. Neighbors walking by commenting on poor quality of work. Holes, cracks, seams did not get filled or smoothed before painting. Paint streaks on house.

Tyler and his team were amazing. Timely, great quality, willing to come out and touch up on multiple occasions. They truly know what old Portland homes need. They hand scraped and painted where necessary and repaired rotten pieces of siding. Expensive, yes, but value is what you’re paying for. The house is ready to go for years to come! Would recommend to anyone in the Portland area with a home in need of a refresh.

Amazing professionalism, work ethic, & a beautiful job! I cannot say enough good things about Shades of Rose & the work they did on our house painting! Their level of professionalism, communication, swiftness in getting the job done, and the beauty of what my house looks like now are amazing. I have a 1927 bungalow that needed experts in lead removal. Though the front was in good shape, the Southside of my house had started to peel and a few boards needed repair. I contacted Shades of Rose owner, Tyler, and he got back to me right away! Unlike other painting places who sent their employees, Tyler made time & came out within the week to go over details with me. He was very attentive and explained the whole process & made a quote. His quote didn't change! We scheduled a time a few months in the future and he followed up with me both a week before and then the day before to solidify the time. He also let me know that I could count on him to pick out colors & pick up the paint. This was a huge relief! I was guided about their next steps at each turn. I can't tell you how unusual this is: to have such incredible communicators who are also friendly, knowledgeable, & capable! When at first an employee didn't show up, they didn't put my project on hold. They had backup staff who were there so that my house was taken care of and painted swiftly. One of his main employees, Paul, headed up the project and he was also friendly, clear in his communication, & really knowledgeable. Tyler introduced me to him right now. They brought their team and accomplished the job with such finesse, clarity, and calm -- even in the midst of a huge downpour -- twice!!! They put down huge tarps and cleaned up after each day. A few perks that made this service even more awesome: !. Tyler gave us an Angie's list discount. 2. They painted the railing of our front porch on the last day! This was a huge amazing surprise! 3. They gave us a 3-year warranty and explained why we might need it (e.g. lighter colored paint in the sun) -- "Don't worry, Tyler told me. "Just call us and we'll come out and paint free of charge!" Did I mention they offer exceptional service? Our house looks so bright and cheerful! Several neighbors have stopped by to tell us how great it looks! They're also wondering if we're moving -- but, we're not! We're going to be enjoying what feels like to live in a house that looks new! The professionalism, respect and workmanship was exceptional throughout the project. Beautiful restoration to the original door and siding of my 1940's home. Their expertise and attention to every detail in older PDX homes is unique and so greatly appreciated.

It was excellent! They're professional and friendly. I have an extensive garden of plants and they did not damaged anything. They were careful, it was so nice and I would recommend them to anyone.

We chose Shades of Rose primarily because they advertised familiarity with lead paint remediation. Pro: Responsive by phone. Arrived on time. Con: Missed painting several areas TWICE. Incorrectly reinstalled storm Windows: used screws that were too long and therefore the windows would not open. Fortunately we caught the mistake and they came out and redid ALL the storm windows. Crew just came back to paint areas missed the first time. AND they missed an area AGAIN. Left without letting us know so we could double check the work.

Did good work, arrived on time with a full crew. Even put on extra workers to get the job finished before the rain came.

I had a fantastic experience with Shades of Rose. After a year of home renovations, I can honestly say working with Tyler and his crew was the best contractor experience I had. Tyler is very responsive, honest, and reliable. His crew did a wonderful job painting the exterior of my house. They were hard-working, communicative, respectful of my property, and cleaned up the site every day. Shades of Rose is a gem I would recommend without hesitation!

Tyler and his team were very responsive and had a very reasonable quote. They were all skilled to handle lead removal and I felt very safe about the entire procedure. They stripped the badly chipping surfaces using the heat stripping and did the special lead sanding elsewhere where needed. They did a wonderful job painting the entire house and shed and I take pride in my house's exterior look now.

Great! They were flexible and responsive, snuck the project in between rains so it could be done this year, were respectful of my space and it looks fabulous. They'll come back to do touch ups too.

The company is certified to deal with lead paint. They did an excellent job. with a 3 color Victorian home in NE. They have a good guarantee and came back and fixed a couple areas the following year. They also do pressure washing and did an excellent job on soft wood(cedar) decking and pavement.

Shades of Rose was recommended to us by another painting service who thought the paint peeling issue with our house was due to having a layer of oil-based paint applied at some point and he didn't want to deal with it. However, when Tyler came to bid on the project, he not only tested the old paint for lead but also diagnosed the issue as simply a really poor paint job and the wrong kind of product used the last time the house was done. Needless to say, Tyler's time and attention won us over, along with his competitive bid. The painters of Shades of Rose who worked on our house were really friendly and took great care to ensure the house was well prepped and plants along the house were minimally impacted during the job. Workers showed up on time and worked diligently throughout the day. When the work was completed (in 3.5 days) there were a number of areas that had been overlooked - some obvious and some not as much - prior to calling it 'done'. However, Tyler and the Project Manager came to the house the following day to ensure all matters were swiftly addressed (that day) and that we were fully satisfied with the outcome before paying the balance. I appreciate Tyler's high standards and quality customer service and would strongly recommend them to others!

We have used Shades of Rose for almost a decade now for both full exterior paint work as well as touch up work. They are very professional and easy to work with. The quality of their prep and paint work is very good. Tyler was great to work with, very responsive. He scheduled us out about a month and the job started exactly on time and took 4 days. The paint scheme was moderately complex with 2 body colors, a foundation color, door color and window/trim color. I gave Tyler a color plan and everything was done exactly as I had planned. I highly recommend Shades of Rose not just for their work but also their follow up. Over the years they have been happy to come back and fix issues and also to do small touch up jobs which many companies would not bother to do. That's one reason I remain a loyal customer.

Tyler came out and gave us a bid.  Quote was middle range.  Have older home so have lead paint issues which other companies do not want to deal with.  The crew showed up on sunday to pressure wash house outside.  All plants did fine with chemicals that was used to kill moss.  Crew came on monday and started prepping house and painting.  Showed up at 7 and went home around 4- 5 pm.  Worked with the lead Armando,  Brandon and Rafael most days.  Week started out hot~ about 100 degrees.  Worked around sun. Then by thursday rain set in.  They knew the weather patterns and planned for it so all that was left outside was the eves and some decking under a roof.  They began inside prepping and fixing cracks in the walls on thursday.   Started painting inside on friday and job was not done by the end of the day. They knew that they would have to come back saturday and they did.  Worked again from 7-5pm.  HARD WORKERS.  Easy and polite to get along with.  Listen to my concerns.  Even changed paint color in hallway after first coat of paint dried and they didnt fuss.  Very accommodating.  Tyler and Amando a pleasure to work with.  Professional and provided excellent service.  Quality of painting and clean up was exceptional.  I am rather picky and  do all of my own painting and my husband use to paint houses during the summer to earn money for college,  so we feel that Shades of Rose did an outstanding job.  I would definately use them again!  Get them while you can as they book up fast!

Tyler's crew showed up Monday morning and went right to work. At no time at all they had the house prepared and began painting. The work was completed within a week. Right on time. They were meticulous and very professional and the house looks great.

 were 4 full-time painters for 6 days, 2 part-timers, and a couple of extra folks to finish up on the last day.  It started with a wash on Sunday, and ended on Saturday.  This is 3,000 sq foot 1920's craftsman style with upper story and lots of trim.  Plus a wood fence around much of the property.  
GREAT JOB all around.  Very flexible and courteous work crew.

Shades of Rose did a great job painting the interior of our house. They arrived promptly when scheduled, had a full crew and finished painting our house promptly and on schedule. They did a great job. They also painted the exterior of our house 5 years ago. They are very courteous and great craftsmen. Tyler is great to work with.

Tyler was terrific from the estimate to completion.  This is a one hundred year old house that we bought for our daughter and it needed painting desperately.  It was lead based paint, and my husband has constructed five raised bed gardens next to the house for my daughter to have a garden.  They followed all the rules about lead based paint removal and carefully covered her gardens and everything nearby while removal was completed.  The workers were so nice and also professional and worked very hard.  I chose a color that I thought my daughter had been describing but when it was actually on the house she didn't like it very much.  I was out of town when the painting was done and she called me a little disappointed.  So I called Tyler and asked how he would feel about painting over it with a different color.  He was very calm and explained that he could do that and gave me a quote.  He might have been rolling his eyes but I couldn't detect that over the phone!  We didn't repaint, I love the color.  Tyler could not have been more professional and the job is terrific!

Shades of Rose did a great job on our house.  They were very professional and worked around the weather to do the job as fast as they could in Oregon in winter.  They cleaned up well each day.  One of the best things was not price gouging for repairs they found that needed to be done.  They re-sided a shop, replaced a dozen or more shingles in bad shape, fixed some door trim, and overall did very good quality work.
We had a set of new garage doors that had paint already on them.  When they masked them off to paint the trim around them, the tape and plastic damaged the paint on the doors.  They offered to pay for replacement doors (which turned out not to be necessary because it was a manufacturing issue with the doors themselves).  The gesture, however, speaks to their quality attitude.
They fixed a short punchlist of items that needed minor tweaks at the end of the job.  They even came back out to paint a new shop door that was being built during the original job.
We couldn't be happier wtih the results.  Thanks to Tyler and his crew for the excellent work.  Although this paint job will probably last 10 years, we'll be calling them back for the next one!

Our 70-year old home was looking quite sad with paint peeling on every side, rotten boards, and a general sense of neglect. We were unsure of what could be done to get it back into shape.

Of all the paint contractors we contacted (5 in total), Tyler from Shades of Rose put us most at ease. His bid was very competitive for the amount of work and he was honest, straight-forward, and patient with whatever questions we had. His crew arrived on time every day, were courteous and professional, and cleaned up thoroughly every day. They even removed and reinstalled our crazy storm windows without a complaint - which was a herculean task (Tyler said afterwards that they were the most difficult the team ever had to deal with).

At the end of the last day when we had our final walk around, I was amazed at the transformation of our house. I think Shades of Rose did a tremendous job and I am thankful that we invested in them. Also outstanding was Tyler's reassurance that they would come out to fix up anything that bugged us over the next few weeks. We also have a 3-year warranty and the crew will come out if there are any issues over that time frame.

I would definitely recommend Shades of Rose and I look forward to working with them again in the future.
