Choosing the right Home Inspector can be difficult. Unlike most professionals, you probably will not get to meet me until after you hire me. Furthermore, different inspectors have varying qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods and yes, different pricing. All of our inspectors hold Associats Degrees in Building Inspection Technology which required classes in Building Codes, Electrical Codes, Mechanical Codes, Plumbing Codes, Engineering Classes, Plan Review Classes and technical Report writing classes. All new employeees go through an extensive consistetency training program before going to work for us, so you always get the same highly efficient, educated and friendly staff who understand the key diffrnece between a minor defect and a serious structural concern. We don’t write books we write quality easy to read reports. One thing for sure is that a home inspection requires work, a lot of work. Ultimately a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector’s own effort. If you honor us by permitting us to inspect your new home, I guarantee we will give you our very best effort. This we promise you. Anything less and you can call us below 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Jack Applegate, CBO 503-812-9399 [email protected] Brandon Zipser 503-931-6272 [email protected]

Better Built Barns, Inc. is the premiere provider of installed storage sheds in Oregon, Washington and Colorado. Since 1994, Better Built Barns, Inc. has dedicated itself to giving our customers a positive experience. We achieve this through the service and by the sincerity of our employees as well as through; the unparalleled quality, strength, and visual appeal of our buildings, all at an unsurpassed value. Our customers are highly satisfied, and as a result, recommend of our company to their friends and family.

"From the 1st call to the completed project, the team from Better Built Barnes, Salem, OR was a great choice! The arrived on time, knocked out the build, and were friendly and efficient. They took the time to go over the process and what painting/calk sealing steps I needed to accomplish once the shed was built. Family and friends assisted with sealing and painting and the results are amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Better Built Barns out of Salem, OR (they also service Colorado where my shed was built). (Slant roof, 10' x 14' - 7' high in back, and 10.5' high front with double doors, single window, and two soffit vents)"

Garages questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can pressure wash epoxy garage floors. Most epoxy floors can be cleaned with a mop, but you may choose to pressure wash your floor if it is stained, has ground-in dirt, or is covered with mold or mildew. Before pressure washing, soak stains and dirty areas with a gentle cleanser for best results. Then use a pressure washer tip angled at 45 degrees and raise the spray nozzle to at least 18 inches off the floor to protect the flooring surface. You can also use a surface cleaner power washer or rotary scrubber to prevent overspray.

The lifespan of garage door springs depends on the type and quality of the springs, the physical environment, and the level of use. In general, properly installed and maintained springs open and close a garage door around 10,000 times . That equates to around seven years if you open and close the door about four times a day. If you use your garage door more frequently, live in a very cold or humid environment that promotes corrosion or rust, or have a very heavy door, your springs may wear out faster and require replacing sooner.

You can put sliding doors on your garage, but it’ll save you money if you install them when you’re building the garage, so you avoid removal costs for the old door. Garage doors are sectional, using vertical tracks and large springs to lift the door. These require professional removal, and the cost can quickly add up to thousands of dollars.

Your homeowners' insurance should automatically cover your detached garage. This coverage often falls under a “separate structure” policy. Keep in mind that there may be exceptions to this general rule. Every insurance policy has its own rules and coverage, so contact your homeowners' insurance to ensure you’re covered—and to know how much coverage your policy offers.

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.
