"Elite repaired a gutter that separated from my roof. They were professional, and responded almost immediately after my inquiry. They came out to do the repair same-day which was a plus, considering a storm arrived the next day. Would recommend for repairs and gutter/roof cleanings."

"Excellent work! Workman were super. Very competent and talented co-ordinator (Jose), and crew heads. Trevor gave a thorough and thoughtful estimate and helped with questions patiently. Amazing crew removed old roof and had most of new one up in one day. I will always wonder if I had to replace as much fascia as I did, and wished I had come up with a way to have less projecting downspouts, but I guess that was MY problem caused by two plugged drainfields..  They did a great job of cleaning up after, especially Rafael, who finished up my few remaining concerns, including a tough job cleaning debris from over the insulation material inside the roof/attic. I felt I was working with a well organized machine and a top-notch enterprise!"

"Ele and his team did a great job installing new gutters on our house. The workmanship was very good; the finished gutters look great. They were done in a coupe hours, and they were nice to work with. They also took care not to step on the plants near where their ladders had to go. I highly recommend them!"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Absolutely—and lots of it. Overflowing water from your gutters can damage your siding and your roof. All of the moisture getting into the cracks and crevices of your home can lead to mold or mildew problems down the line. In addition, when water pools around your home, it needs a place to go—and sometimes it ends up inside the house, creating a very unwanted flood.

The best way to seal gutters is with a combination of waterproof roofing cement and silicone gutter sealant. This powerful duo works to prevent water from escaping through holes and cracks while allowing for breathability. While you can use polyurethane sealants, silicone sealants tend to be more flexible when it comes to climate. Silicone is UV-resistant and bonds well to many surfaces. However, polyurethane sealant bonds better with wood.

With routine maintenance, gutters don’t usually need to be replaced for 20 years, but there are warning signs that they might need early replacement. Signs that your gutters need to be replaced include sagging, visible cracks or holes, peeling paint, rust, standing water in your gutter, and water leaking into your basement. Pushing off replacing your gutters can lead to extensive damage to both the interior and exterior of your home. Regular maintenance can help your gutters last all 20 years — and sometimes, even longer.

Water should not be dripping behind your gutters. Rain dripping between your gutters and the fascia might indicate that the gutters are misaligned with the fascia board or there are loose screws in the gutters, allowing water to pass through. Start by checking for these issues and make repairs ASAP.

Snow and ice can both accumulate on the top of a metal roof and slide off as the weight of the snow increases or as the snow and ice melt. This can rip the gutters off your roof and damage the gutters or the roof if you don’t take preventative measures. Snow guards are one of the easiest methods for helping to prevent snow accumulation on your metal roof from damaging your gutters.
