"We hired A&E construction and painting to put on a new roof, paint our entire home exterior, and install new gutters. Their bids were significantly lower than all others and they worked with us on our timeline. They were respectful of our budget and didn’t push us to do more than was necessary. We upgraded the vents in our roof for a very reasonable price. The neighbors stopped by frequently to comment on how wonderful it looks! I’m now hiring them for some inside work. Yes, you can mount shutters to vinyl siding. Depending on the weight and material of choice, you may need more fasteners or larger fasteners to secure the shutters onto the vinyl surface. It’s also important to locate studs or drill into the window frame when installing heavier shutters to best hold the weight of the shutters if you opt for composite or wood shutters.

You may only need to repaint fiber cement siding every decade or so, but you should clean it every six to 12 months, depending on your local climate. First, wash with a garden hose or similar low-pressure device (not a high-pressure washer, which can damage the material) to remove dirt and any large debris. Then, gently wipe down the surface with a soft brush or cloth in a side-to-side motion, following the grain of the fiber cement.
