"This company can improve by providing a longer warranty on their services, especially to areas that have variable climates. This company is based out of southern Oregon where the climate is temperate for 10 months out of the year. We are in central Oregon where the climate is temperate for about 5 months a year. The window of service is smaller in our area as we are experiencing extreme cold weather during months when All Natural Pest Elimination is calling to provide us with treatments. The ants are not present during these cold months so we have to wait for the weather to warm up and the Carpenter ant hatches to begin. Unfortunately, our warranty was up by the time the ants hatched and we are out 3500$ and still have a very serious ant problem. Tony Goin refused to remedy the situation, telling us "tough luck" but he'd be happy to take more of our money so they can probably not solve our ant problem....again. What a fraud. The service they provide one can do on their own buying product from Amazon and placing bait and gel in the appropriate areas. The treatment of drilling into our structure and spraying essential oils could have be done another time as the ants are in our walls, but Tony refused to provide that initial treatment more than once. Every other treatment consisted of technicians spreading bait around our house. Such a disappointment and serious waste of money."

In some cases, a clean house can have roaches, especially if you have excess moisture somewhere. You may want to check for leaky pipes or look underneath sinks to make sure water isn’t dripping near a hidden area that is inviting the cockroaches in. Roaches can also take up residence in clean homes with not-protected food sources, like open bags of food in a kitchen cupboard.

Make it easier for your inspector to do a thorough assessment by preparing your home ahead of time. That includes:

  • Noting any signs of pests around the home

  • Removing obstacles in the way of the attic, basement, plumbing, garbage, and other key areas that inspectors will need to access

  • Keeping children and pets away from inspection areas

It can be difficult to know what type of animal is in your attic until you see it. But several clues can help you narrow down the suspects:

  • Sounds: Smaller animals like rats and mice make scurrying and tapping/gnawing sounds. Larger animals like raccoons and opossums make louder clambering noises. Also, note when animals are noisy: Squirrels are active during the day, while rats are busiest at night.

  • Droppings: Rats and mice leave small, rice-shaped droppings (the rat’s version is significantly larger). Bigger droppings belong to larger critters like raccoons. As long as you’re not squeamish, an image search can help you identify what you’re seeing in your attic.

When in doubt, take photos of damage or other evidence and show them to an experienced pest control pro.

A raccoon may be hanging around your house for convenient access to food, water, or shelter. They may drink water out of puddles, pools, ponds, fountains, or your pet’s water bowls. Raccoons are also known to eat just about anything, including food from gardens and waste from unsecured trash cans.

As with anything ingested by animals, there is always a chance that mushrooms will be toxic. Clearing the tops of mushrooms from the soil to prevent them from being eaten by pets is always a good idea. Since poisonous mushrooms can be deadly, we recommended that any mushroom ingestion is treated as a veterinary emergency. Watch for signs of lethargy and digestive distress in any animal suspected to have eaten a mushroom and contact your vet immediately.
