In about 4 hours, at the cost of $4700, and without dust, flying cement chips, and possibly damage to the nearby patio doors, the patio cement slab was lifted.  This was not a small patio but about 15 x 20 feet.  The employees of TerraFirma were super conscientious, efficient and walked around the patio with a level making sure the job was done as perfect as possible.  I am not an easy person to please and I was tickled by the magic of their performance.  There was nothing to clean up afterwards.  They came, they worked, they conquered the problem and they rode off into the sunset.  This was a consumer's dream come true and worth every dollar.  I did tell Casey at TerraFirma that he could give my phone number if anyone wished to speak to me directly.  BTW, I had called two of the references that TerraFirma had given me being skeptical that this job could be done successfully. All had similar experience with lifting up a drooping patio slab.  Please note that this is not something that would be done if the patio were attached to the foundation; this was a free floating pad. 12/04/13 I will try to update this review with BEFORE and AFTER TerraFirma photos.

Fonua showed up for the bid on time and was well organized. He was my 2nd of three total bids. My first bidding company was unprepared & couldn't leave me with a price (he simply said he could do it cheaper than whatever other bid I received). Dateline's price was $1,800 dollars less than the third bid I received. And, the first company called Monday to ask about my other bids & said he could not in fact do it cheaper than Dateline. Dateline was ready to start my job the following day. The entire job took 3 days (I was told it would take 2-3 days when I received my bid. Fonua's and his crew were from Tonga, everyone spoke English - though we did have some communication difficulty concerning my design idea for the patio. I was able to catch the miscommunication before any concrete was poured & the crew hustled to make the necessary changes to the design plan before the concrete arrived. I am confident that they would have torn out the entire deck and re-poured had I been unsatisfied.

THE PRICE WAS ONE-THIRD WHAT MY PLUMBER WANTED TO CHARGE TO SUBCONTRACT THE WORK (A LINE TO THE STREET NECESSITATED REPLACEMENT OF THE SIDEWALK)AND THE WORK WAS OF A HIGH QUALITY AND PROMPTLY DONE GIVEN THE SMALL NATURE OF THE JOB. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Mike did a great job. He dug out the old posts and replaced them with primed and painted new posts. The new posts were cemented in. He detached the fence from the old posts where needed and re-attached the fence when finished. Afterwards he cleaned up all debris and swept where needed. Highly recommend this contractor.

Mike Ziemer from Quality Home repair,541 324 1149 came to my place on Tuesday, gave me an estimate. and Friday showed up ready to roll. My bathroom was digusting, I just bought the mobile home and the bathroom obiviously needed a make over totally from the 1970's avocado green toilet tub and the back splash was awful staples holding the backs splash sealed with varnish that had yellowed. Mike Ziemer true professional. wonderful work right down to every detail. want a great job. mike is your man!!!!!

Called Mike on his cell phone number which I got from his wife (541-244-0861). He came over the following day and looked over the project taking notes and inspecting the building. A few days later he gave me an estimate for the job and a description of the work to be done. He quoted me a 6 week job time to get it done. He and his crew started the following week and completed the following work in the 6 week time period:: rebuild the foundation, tear out the old flooring and replace with new framing, sub-flooring, and commercial vinyl, re-frame the walls and ceiling, repair roof where needed to ensure soundness, add insulation on ceiling, walls and flooring, replace 4 5 X 2 sliding windows with double panes and screens, replace entry door and hardware with exterior door with screened window, add new LED lighting to ceiling, frame the new door way , dry wall throughout, texture ceiling and walls, and build in a work bench with a 4 foot granite top, 1 tool drawer, 2 bin drawers, and a pull out expander board. Add a french drain to protect new foundation area and downspouts to move water away from building. Everything was done perfectly and they finished in the 6 week time frame including some unexpected wiring repair for the two new LED light fixtures. They worked some week ends to make the deadline which I appreciated. Everything was done above expectations and we now have a well lighted, sound, well insulated and solid warehouse/ workshop area for work and projects. And an excellent value I would add. Mike is very talented at building and very reliable.

Our old bathroom was horrible: a 6'x7' cramped box with a sloped ceiling. I couldn't stand in front of the toilet without hitting my head, and if I dropped something in the tiny shower, I had to open the door and get out to retrieve it. When we discovered the cheap shower stall was leaking no matter how much caulk was used, we knew it was time for a drastic change. This project might have been a contractor's worst nightmare: upstairs in a cramped, out-of-plumb, 1860's construction bathroom. Mike Gutowski handled this beast like tried-and-true champ. Mike is very easy to work with. He had great insight, and really took the time to help us develop our ideas of what we wanted from a new bathroom. This type of project can vary WILDLY on costs, but Mike had outstanding recommendations on how to make the most of our budget. It's hard to accurately write-up a full description of the MOUNTAIN of work that had to be done for this project to succeed. No matter how hard the house tried to fight Mike, he persisted until every detail was perfect. We now have a beautiful, spacious shower stall that will last a lifetime. Our friends and family were amazed by the transformation. I've posted some pictures below, and here is the youtube video with more detailed visuals of what was done: [*** Link removed ***] Thanks, and good luck with your project!

It's absolutely perfect. He's going to be doing our driveway and sidewalk as soon as we get to that point. He's one of the nicest people that you can meet. He's very honest, friendly and wants to make sure you're happy with everything. He does great quality work.

After snow and cold delayed the job for a couple of weeks, we got rolling before Christmas. Pumped in slurry to bring level up, then DG, foam, vapor barriers, rebar and finish slab. From bidding to end they were punctual and professional. Got an itemized, written bid within 24 hours. I always get several bids, and they were the only company that provided a complete written bid. Because of the snow delay and bad roads, they were in touch with me regularly to schedule the start of the project. The finished project looks great and I now have a 400 sq. ft. storage room to use once the slab cures. I've worked with a number of subs and contractors in Southern Oregon in the last two years, and in my experience it is hard to find one that is motivated and driven to earn repeat business. I would not hesitate to hire them again - in fact, I just took a break from writing this to talk with them about another concrete project on my property. Bottom line is they were on time, and on budget. I also appreciate the fact that their workers are courteous and professional and don't use foul language - which is important when living close to neighbors and retirees as we do.
