Small jobs welcome

"Pat has designed a number of homes of which I have lived in or have built for sale. Along with the structural engineer, everything worked well as planned. I can say for sure the design department is a real value as I have built other architect, drawn homes that cost much more to build not to mention the design fees. Pat has the experience , and the eye to design any type of build . DB now retired homebuilder."

Customers say: Quick response

"We had never worked with a landscape architect before so I wasn't really sure how it all worked. I have to say Bruce was great to work with. My initial meeting with Bruce was brief and I wasn't sure what to think. My husband and I then had 2 other meetings where Bruce showed us some preliminary drawings and together we came up with a design. It was a very easy process and we are really excited to get started with our project. Thanks Bruce!"

"David and his crew did an awesome job! David met with us and helped us execute our vision. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. They did a great job tearing out the lawn, removing bark, moving the irrigation system, planting trees, pouring a new patio, and placing stepping stones. David and Carlos (the foreman) paid great attention to detail and made sure everything was accurate and complete. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely hire them again."

"We hired Dluxe Construction LLC to re-design our kitchen. Great experience from beginning to end. My kitchen looks amazing, thanks to professional installers. They were VERY helpful, prompt, courteous, and worked neatly. If you're having any remodeling, I'd say you should contact Dluxe Construction LLC that they do your work. If I could give them more stars, I absolutely would."

"Job took two weeks end to end. The job was complex and involved tree removal, demolition, and then construction. Alex let us know what to expect and raised issues and decisions in an efficient manner. Noe and Gildardo were punctual, hard working, and took great pride in their work They worked through some wet and nasty weather and it didnt slow them down. The precision stone cutting they performed to build the wall properly really made a difference. The end result is amazing and we are very happy with the result."

Architects questions, answered by experts

There are differences between universal design and ADA accommodations, but the outcomes are often similar. While universal design is a proactive process that takes a social justice approach to accessibility for all, ADA accommodations are focused specifically on accessibility for individuals living with disabilities. ADA accommodations often take the shape of wider doors and hallways, ramps, elevators, lower counters and sinks, and easy-to-grab door handles; universal design can include these plus emphasize better lighting, tractioned floors, and other building elements that allow all people to use buildings more comfortably.

Greek Revival architecture was popularized in America in the early- to mid-1800s, around the time when archaeologists were discovering buried ancient Greek buildings. As a means of celebrating the democratic government in ancient Greece, American architects borrowed from those newly discovered buildings as a way to emphasize that America would remain a democratic country in the wake of the American Revolution.

Mediterranean architecture comes from traditional building styles of countries on the Mediterranean Sea mixed with French, Greek, and Moroccan influences. There are three main types of Mediterranean architecture: Italian Renaissance, Spanish Revival, and modern.

Some signature components of Mediterranean architecture include red terra cotta roofs, archways, stucco siding, and metal detailing on windows. These homes often have balconies and outdoor living areas.

In most cases, you should get an architect before you hire a builder. An architect will be the one to draw up formal plans for your project, including guidelines and even material lists for your builder to follow during construction. Many architects can even help you find builders, choose one for your project, and negotiate prices. Some are also willing to act as project managers throughout the process, working closely with a builder from start to finish.

In the United States, architects must be licensed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia before being allowed to practice or seek business. Licensing requirements vary state-to-state, but overall the architect must be educated, attain a certain level of experience, submit to and pass an examination, and register as an architect. Find out if your architect is licensed using Angi’s contractor licensing search tool
