"It went great. The work they did looks very good and clean. They found that some of our exterior drain pipes were full of roots and they replaced those at what seemed like a very reasonable additional cost. We had one issue we had a question about and they sent two guys out right away to look at it. The only problem we really had was that they didn't call for a locate for where they were going to dig and actually didn't seem familiar with the need to do that."

"Our house is almost 130 years old, so we needed to have some foundation stabilization done. The company was a pleasure to do business with. From our initial consultation and beyond, every contact was courteous and knowledgeable. On the first day of the project, after removing the dirt to see the foundation, it was discovered that the existing foundation was not sufficient to support using the helical piers according to the building inspector. The dirt was all replaced and it was arranged to come back out and give me a quote for a different process using smart jacks. Due to circumstances at my local building department, the new job had to be postponed until a new permit could be obtained. Once that was done I was rescheduled and the job was completed in a day and a half. When the building inspector came to sign off on the permit, he raved at what a great job they had done. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who asked."

"Holmes Concrete & Excavation designed and installed a stamped, colored concrete walkway around 75% of our house. The walkway passed through our front and rear gardens and also covered the south end of our house where we keep our trash bins and air conditioner unit. The walkway was well designed and helped tie together the exterior of our house in a functional, aesthetically appealing way. James Holmes helped us choose a color for the concrete that matched the exterior of our house. Overall, the final product exceeded our expectations. James and his team were professional, timely, and did a great job communicating the stages of the project. We have 2 dogs and they also did a good job temporarily closing off a portion of our yard to allow the dogs to use the yard without it negatively impacting the project. "This experience was the old time quality and service you hear your grandparents talk about. The crew showed up 15 minutes ahead of time ready to start. While a fairly non-complex job of removing existing material and leveling the sloping site with crushed gravel, all material removed was redistributed around the yard. The concrete work was carefully laid out, true and square. The finish completely uniform in spite of high winds blowing leaves into site. When they finished the job, the clean up was spotless. All debris was removed and the driveway and all adjacent concrete washed down. Several times during progress, I was consulted if they had a suggestion for improvement or question. Every one of the workers was courteous, polite and thanked us before leaving. Fast, efficient and cost effective."
