He even sprayed my hanging plant as he saw it was dying, my services today were dewebbing around the eaves, windows, doors, gutters, and j-rail. checked your bait stations, sprayed along the foundation, windows, doors, and gutters to create a barrier that will help keep pest out of and off your home. "The inspection was scheduled promptly, the inspector did a careful and thorough job. He provided a somewhat dire assessment on the ant issues (I knew that we had a problem), provided a full suite of things which the company could tend to to extend the life of the interior wood structure and exclude pests for the longer term. Their use of all natural chemical control was a big plus. We signed a contract and the technician came a few days later. Unfortunately, the birds were "in" on that cool and rainy day so we decided to leave them to his second visit to complete the treatments/exclusion. The technician was polite, tidy, and willing to answer questions. On the second treatment day, the birds were out and the exclusion process was completed. They guarantee the work done for a year with the promise of return to address any issues. It is too early to assess the longer term run at this point but so far, so good."

"Speak with your local Edge professional rather than a regional or national representative to avoid any confusion. Past that, they are exceptional! Knowledgable, friendly, dedicated, professional. I would highly recommend Edge Pest Control!"

"We needed more data as to whether we had bedbugs, so we hired a canine search which indicated that we did not. The problem turned out to have a medical explanation and not a vector problem. My advice is to use everything possible to decide if the problem is really bed bugs. A well trained dog is close to 90% accurate, and add that to physical evidence, i.e., feces stains which are brown, looking in the seams of your mattress, and on your bed frame is important. There are many pictures of evidence online, so do your homework first, then the canine, then the estimates. Try not to panic. The idea of bedbugs is extremely disconcerting and emotional. It is not a disease of unkempt and unclean people. It is becoming more widespread. So try to separate yourself from the image, and think clearly and read reliable websites. Here is the result of our research. You need to educate yourself first, so that you know which questions to ask. Do not forget about using a trained dog. See my review of a canine under "Pest Control.""

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Some snake repellents are risky to use around people and pets because they use the active ingredient in mothballs, naphthalene. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has classified naphthalene as a carcinogen that can cause damage to the liver, neurological issues, and cataracts.

The Colorado State University Extension suggests there’s not enough conclusive evidence of the effectiveness of snake repellents to recommend their use.

Roaches multiply quickly, which is why an infestation can spread so fast. Female American cockroaches lay about 12 eggs in each egg case, called an ootheca. They can lay six to 14 ootheca during their short lifespan. German cockroaches lay four to five ootheca in their lifetime, with each carrying 20 to 40 eggs. Many roaches can have 100 to over 200 offspring during their lifespan.

You might be tempted to call your local municipality to remove animals from your property, such as a groundhog burrowing in your yard or raccoons getting into your trash cans. However, they typically only remove domestic animals like dogs and cats from properties, or sick and injured wildlife that pose a public safety risk or health threat, such as a rabid animal. They typically do not capture or remove healthy wildlife.

Animal removal professionals have the tools, knowledge, and skills to trap and remove wild animals adequately and humanely. They also can relocate them correctly.

Raccoons are primarily crepuscular and nocturnal, meaning they are most active at dawn, dusk, and throughout the night. While less common, they may come out during the day to find food, especially in warm months or during the spring birthing season (April and May) when caring for their young. Seasonally, raccoons are active year-round and do not truly hibernate. However, during periods of severe cold, they will often remain in their dens for extended periods.

For a minor infestation, you can expect to clear up a German cockroach problem in about two weeks. That’s usually enough time to confirm that they don’t have additional hiding spots and aren’t continuing to encroach from an outside source. If you have a major infestation and use the services of a pest control company, it can take several weeks and multiple visits to fully clear your home, up to a couple of months.
