Customers say: Quick response

"Imer and his team did an incredible job of drywalling my complicated bathroom where many of the walls were torn up. The result is absolutely perfect, ready to paint, beautiful drywall. Imer is a great communicator about every step, and he was always here exactly as scheduled. He and his crew, including his brother, were so professional and courteous. Imer also knew that I was worried about drywall dust, and they kept it perfectly contained to the one room, and then left that room in perfect condition. I interviewed many drywall companies before finding Innovation Drywall. The other companies sent a salesperson to the house and could not answer with confidence what the finished product would be like, nor would they confirm that the place would not be left in a mess. But Imer came out himself to look at the job, explained in as much detail as I needed what he could do with the room, and gave me my different options. He also reassured me that there would be no mess left behind and there was not a speck, either in the bathroom, or on the stairwell or hallway which they used to access the bathroom. He and the crew put down floor coverings on all of the surfaces they needed to walk on, including the stairwell, and each day when finished, they rolled those up with the dust carefully contained and took the rugs back to their truck. The finish job is perfect, and process was painless and flawless. I would highly recommend them for any job, big or small. I should add that the cost of the job was incredibly reasonable. I also liked that Imer gave me a solid bid unlike all of the other companies who just said they charged by the hour with no estimate of what it would cost. Imer bid was extremely reasonable, especially for the beautiful work they did."

"The owners and the entire crew did a fabulous job. They went above and beyond. Their helpfulness, communication and experience was what I needed. I had a leak from the roof causing walls and ceilings to be damaged. They showed up on time and worked with me on a short project time line. I will hire them again. Thank you so much. Katherine"

"Pete Romayer and his son installed 2500 sq,ft drywall on the ceiling of my airplane hangar. I cannot speak too highly of the quality of their work, with meticulous attention to detail. They worked hard and fast, from early morning until evening, and readily agreed to additional details that rounded out the job to perfection. Every precaution was taken to contain dust to a minimum, and clean up was excellent. The finished ceiling was perfect. It would not be possible to find better quality work anywhere, performed by a delightful couple of guys. They have earned my highest recommendation. Kenneth Melvin M.D."

Customers say: True professional

"Jesus was very professional and demonstrated the upmost quality in customer service. He called me around 6 in the evening and I was able to have him come by at 7 and take a look at the work I needed to do. He was prompt and showed up within 2 minutes of when he said he would when he came to estimate and later do the work. He came back the next day to do the work. He plastic'd off all areas to keep debris and dust contained and did a fine job cleaning up. He did very good work on all the drywall patching I needed him to do. Great professional contractor unlike the guy from Cloe drywall who wouldn't even call me back like he said he would."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can hammer a nail into a wall stud. But before you do, it’s important to confirm that you’re actually nailing into a stud—and not wiring, pipes, or ductwork. To check, find a few more studs in the wall, then measure to make sure they’re either 16 or 24 inches apart.

Drywall anchors won’t work on plaster. Instead, they will more than likely cause more damage and pull out the plaster. The best type of anchors to use on plaster walls are the ones that will bite into the surrounding area, such as molly bolts and toggle bolts. Masonry anchors with expanders on the sides also work for lighter pictures.

Eco-friendly options reduce environmental impact and often improve indoor air quality.

There are six levels of drywall finish, from 0 to 5, that refer to the amount of work performed during the finishing process.

Level 0: Drywall is hung with no finishing work.

Level 1: Tape is placed over the seams between drywall sheets.

Level 2: A thin layer of mud is applied over the tape and screw holes. This level is common for utility rooms or walls that will be covered.

Level 3: A full coat of mud covers the screw holes and tape, but the surface is not sanded. This is often used in garages.

Level 4: This is the most common finish for visible interior walls. It involves applying two coats of mud over seams and screw holes, with sanding between each coat, creating a smooth surface ready for flat paint.

Level 5: This is a high-end finish for luxury homes. It includes full taping, mudding, and sanding, plus a final skim coat over the entire surface before painting.

While every home has its own unique needs, ceiling drywall installation typically follows a staggered or stepped pattern to enhance structural integrity and reduce the visibility of seams. Starting from one corner, sheets are placed perpendicular to the ceiling joists, with the ends of adjacent sheets meeting along the center of the joist. The next row begins with a half sheet, ensuring joints don't align vertically. This alternating pattern, combined with proper taping and mudding, creates a seamless appearance and strengthens the ceiling structure, minimizing the risk of cracks over time.
