"This company did not hesitate to take on my fence replacement project. The job entailed working both ends of the new fence to existing fences on both ends. The terrain was uneven and the old fence was covered with vines. This company was very helpful in scheduling and keeping me informed. I would absolutely recommend this company for fencing needs"

"There may be many fence companies that state to be the best. Well, I have found the one that is. Sassy Grass LLC did an outstanding job of installing my fence. It is not the average fence either. It is was a custom job and with a custom built double gate. They also do landscaping where all can be done by one company and not piece-meal. The workers are all friendly and easily to communicate with them. They cleaned up afterward and left things tidy. And last of all, the price was right. For such quality, it was a bargain. Call soon to make an appointment and get on their schedule."

Customers say: True professional

"Saul came to my house and gave me a quote. I needed a concrete fence demolished and replaced with a cedar fence with capped metal poles. His crew did the work in one day and hung a beautiful fence instead of using cheap panels. Rockin P Fence did a wonderful job and saved me thousands…"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In most cases, you will need a building permit to put up a vinyl fence, especially if the fence is sitting on or close to your property line. You can ask your local building department or  fence installation company if your fence project will require a permit. If so, you can expect it to cost between $20 and $60. Your fence installer should pull the permit for you. Building without a permit could eventually require you to pay again to remove the fence and reinstall it after getting the job approved.

Regular cleaning, rust-proof coatings, and checking fasteners help prolong the lifespan.

A well-maintained pipe fence can last anywhere from 20 to 50 years, depending on factors like material, climate, and maintenance. Galvanized or coated pipes resist rust and corrosion better than other alternatives, so they tend to last longer, especially in humid or wet environments. Routine maintenance, such as inspecting for damage, removing rust, and applying protective coatings, helps extend the fence’s lifespan significantly.

There are two things you can do to make a fence replacement easier—but keep in mind that easier doesn’t mean better. First, you can use a jack or some other type of machinery to pull the post out of the ground. If that’s not available, a digging bar can help.

Second, you can backfill the hole with gravel rather than creating a concrete footing. Keep in mind, gravel is less secure. You should only use it if you’re installing a lightweight fence or have heavier, clay soil.

Yes, you can use a floor jack to remove fence posts. Attach a stem to the base of the fence post so you can position the floor jack underneath. The stem can be a scrap piece of wood attached with nails or a sturdy nail itself. Put the jack beneath the stem and push the lever to lift up on the fence post and remove it from the ground.
