"A crew from Groundworks installed eight floor supports and encapsulated our crawl space last week. Jorge, Isaac, Kenny, Zacch, and Anthony did a great job! They worked very long hours to complete our project in a timely fashion and were great to interact with. They identified several plumbing and air duct problems and brought them to my attention. Jorge, the team leader, was great about communicating with me and keeping me well informed. The after job clean-up was very thorough. Jorge has been available by phone for my questions even after they have moved on to another job. These guys are very deserving of five stars. Also, I want to give a shout out to Anthony who did our inspection/estimate. He was very thorough and patient and made everything understandable. Another five-star guy!"

"Joey was our salesman and he was very thorough and explained the whole process to us. We picked out all of our flooring, paint colors, fixtures, shower enclosure colors/patterns, type of glass for the doors etc from an extensive set of samples he brought with him, which was very helpful. Install day came exactly as scheduled by Randell and our installer Taylor and plumber Clay showed up to get started. Our house is 72 years old, so they had a few issues to deal with and overcame every little thing that needed to be done with complete competence. Our 2 bathrooms both turned out SO pretty and we couldn't be happier with the work that was done. Taylor is very detail oriented and a very hard worker. He even showed up to work during the snow that practically crippled the city. I was very impressed with his work ethic. He is very pleasant and polite and I kinda miss the guy now that he's gone. I'd absolutely hire them again if I renovate any other bathrooms."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can fill your toilet tank manually to help it flush, or you can pour the water directly into the bowl to flush it manually. This will work for the majority of toilets, as most use a gravity feed system. However, you should only ever use this as a temporary solution. If your toilet tank isn’t filling, you should find out why. First, make sure the speedy valve connected to your toilet and your water main are open. If that doesn’t solve the issue, call in a professional to address the problem.

Unfortunately, no, you cannot shower while your septic tank is being pumped. The water needs to be shut off while your septic tank is serviced, which includes showers, toilets, sinks, and dishwashers. Take a shower well before pumping is scheduled to begin. Once the pumping is complete, you can resume regular water use.

If you have the necessary skills, you can attempt DIY plumbing installation for simple systems, but professional installation is recommended for complex systems to comply with codes and ensure safety.

Walk-in tubs have multiple sealing mechanisms to prevent leaks. However, like any bathroom fixture, they can develop leaks over time due to wear, poor installation, or structural issues. Choosing a tub from a reputable manufacturer and ensuring proper installation by experienced professionals can minimize the likelihood of leaks. Additionally, regular inspections and addressing any problems promptly can help maintain the integrity of the walk-in tub and prevent potential problems.

Different plumbing systems may sound different when a pipe is about to burst, so sounds alone are not a definitive indication of a burst pipe. However, dripping sounds indicate a leaking pipe, and there’s a thin line between a small leak and a bursting overflow. Metallic sounds like clanging and rattling are common when a pipe bursts, though they can also indicate a normally functioning hot water system.
