"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

While insulation is required for all exterior walls in a house, it is not typically required for interior walls. Local and state building codes mandate that new construction homes have adequate insulation in exterior walls and ceilings to suit the local climate.

However, there are several benefits to adding insulation to interior walls. It is excellent for sound-dampening between rooms and can help with temperature control by maintaining a regulated temperature in specific rooms and lowering heat transfer between adjacent areas. Insulating interior walls can also contribute to the overall energy efficiency of your home.

Winterizing your outdoor plumbing keeps your outdoor spigot from freezing and potentially bursting. This includes draining residual water out of the pipe and spigot after turning the valve off, then removing garden hoses and other attachments from the spigot before winter comes. Insulating the pipe that leads to the spigot and installing a freeze-proof faucet also help, as does installing an outdoor faucet protector.

You don’t need to staple insulation, as your drywall and studs will hold it into place. But if you already have a staple gun and staples lying around, it can help keep the product in place and avoid any shifting. But, most experts agree it’s an unnecessary step.

If you’re adding a vapor barrier, you will need to staple that in place.

Exposed ductwork can sweat just like ductwork placed behind walls, sometimes even more so. Ductwork sweats—like a cold drink on a hot day—because of a temperature imbalance between the air in the duct and the air in the room. In a crawl space or wall, this temperature can equalize faster due to the small space but in lofts and open rooms, that wouldn’t happen as quickly. Many people insulate their ducts for this reason.
