"Even though it was an extremely wet spring, Scott kept in touch about our project. We are so happy with our patio and fire pit! It looks beautiful is sloped properly. I now have even steps to go out to the patio. Need to buy new furniture to fit. Cant wait to have friends and family over now that we have space. Call Scott and his team for quality service and product!"

"We got an egress put in. The awesome experience started with Doug McIntire coming over to explain the product and the process. Doug was so professional, knowledgeable and just made us feel like the decision to go with them was a no-brainer. We then got scheduled for mid-April but asked to be on the waiting list to have the install done sooner if a spot opened up. Luckily one did and we got moved up 2 months!! The crew said that they would be here around 8:30-9:00am on 2/10/21 and they got here at 8:30am...right on time! The team was led by Tyler who did such an awesome job with the team. The rest of the team was Alex, Eric, Justin and Daniel (the hole digger)...sorry if I missed someone. One of the guys brought up our garbage can from the end of the driveway. Everyone worked so well together and Tyler not only did the work too, he also was teaching each of them. We are so happy with the work and the experience we had! I really enjoyed the experience and I would definitely recommend Ohio Basement Systems to anyone!"

"They did a very good job. They came out, they gave a few suggestions, and gave me an estimate. They came out, did the work, they were very courteous, they walked around, showed me everything, I wrote the check, and we both left happy. I thought they were well priced, they were professional, and they were not pushy. They were responsive and very much on time."

"The whole experience was excellent.  CARE responded promptly to my request for an estimate, and once I selected them to do the work, the project commenced within a couple of weeks.  Both projects were completed in about two weeks and were done well.  All the workers that were involved with the project were professional and polite.  Since this was work going on in an occupied house, they were very careful to clean up each day and work with the least disruption as possible.  The projects both turned out as expected and the cost was exactly as quoted, even though some minor changes and additions were made along the way.

There was one problem after the fact, where the dirt that backfilled the pre-cast concrete steps settled significantly over the winter, not only leaving a hole, but allowing rain drainage to enter the basement.  CARE set a crew of three and a delivery of dirt to fill in the settling, re-seal the complete doorway, and design and install a better drainage solution around the stairs.  This was all done nine months after the original work, and at no additional cost to us.

Overall I can't say enough good things about our experience with CARE.  I certainly would recommend them to anybody."

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

Most professionals can install a window well in two to three days, depending on the size of the well and the window you want inside it. If you’re just replacing an existing window well, the work is much less intensive, and most experts can get the job done in just one day. Connecting the window well to a drainage system or installing a custom concrete window well will naturally take longer, but even the most complicated installations shouldn’t take more than three days.

Finding a reputable contractor for an egress window installation involves researching and vetting potential candidates. Start by searching for local professionals, reading customer reviews, and checking their websites for a portfolio of their work.

Once you have a shortlist, ask the following questions to ensure they are qualified:

• Are you licensed and insured?

• What experience do you have installing egress windows?

• Can you provide references from previous customers?

• Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors?

• What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule?

• How do you handle payment?

There are a few ways to save money on egress window installation. First, choosing pre-fabricated windows instead of custom windows can help dramatically reduce the overall cost. In addition, skipping window extras, like customized frames or window film, can help save money on the price tag without sacrificing the window itself. You should also shop around to multiple window installers to find the best installation deal without sacrificing the quality of the window.

You install a window well 8 to 12 inches deeper than the base of the window sill. After filling the well with drainage rock, the well should sit 3 inches below the bottom of the window. The top of the window well should also be at least 3 inches higher than the surface-grade ground. The window well should be about 6 inches wider than the window opening.

They meet local code demands for escape routes, lighten basements, and aid in reducing overall humidity.
