"Because I just had these rods installed a few days ago (and now it's Nov 26, 2021) I haven't had enough time to evaluate the work quality and value - but I have no reason to doubt that both are good. I priced materials for this job, as I originally planned to install themselves, but when I realized that I truly didn't want to get up on the roof of my house (which is quite high) or to get on the roof of my barn (metal, thus slippery) I decided to hire the pros. So that I am very happy with and of course it therefore cost more than it would have if I had done the job myself - but it was safer for me, and also much quicker than I would have been. So, I am glad I called W B."

"Elliot (the owner) came out to write up a proposal in person. He was by far the most helpful of all the contractors that I contacted for this job. He spent time measuring our house square footage and windows to come up with a detailed cooling and heating required capacity. Cincinnati Heating and A/C turned out to be the lowest cost contractor of the three quotes I pursued. The installation was started two business days after the proposal was signed. The install team was very competent and took great care not to disrupt our lives any more than necessary. They asked permission for every invasive step required to complete the job. In spite of starting our job late in the afternoon, they worked into the evening to get our system cooling before they left for the day, then returned to finish up the next morning. They corrected a couple of inefficient elements of my HVAC system including ductwork and thermostat programming. Our new A/C system works great, looks great, has better airflow to our second floor, and I am anticipating a drop in our electric bill after we have used it for awhile. I highly recommend this company."

"Bryan completed a partial kitchen remodel in our 155-year-old house, and my wife and I are very pleased with the results, and with the entire process. As an architect, I know from experience that it's incredibly difficult to find a contractor who has fair prices, does quality work, communicates clearly, AND works with subcontractors who are equally capable and professional. Thankfully we found that person in Bryan. We would gladly hire him again (in fact, we've already hired him for additional work!) and would absolutely recommend him to others."

"We got a new kitchen put in by the M &W crew. This included many upgrades we didnâ t previously have; water line to freezer for ice maker, under cabinet lighting wired to a switch, back splash, easy close doors and drawers, and very cool built in desk. All work was outstanding. Nathan, Chris, and crew are a hard working, knowledgeable, and friendly bunch. Also reasonably priced. Highest possible recommendation to this company."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Check reviews, compare quotes, and verify licensing. Ensure the builder has experience with modular construction.

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.

An architect is usually involved in the process of determining the layout and structural features and requirements of the home itself, taking into account the local codes, climate, and materials needed to make the home structurally sound. Architects may communicate more with contractors and subcontractors throughout the building process. In comparison to architects, interior designers typically focus on the aesthetics of a home interior and possibly exterior, helping the homeowner decide on color schemes, textures, and materials to incorporate into the design.

The cost to draw house plans typically ranges from $800 to $2,700, with standard blueprints averaging around $1,800. For a custom home, the cost is higher, with blueprints often falling between $5,000 and $20,000, and potentially more for very complex designs. Several factors influence the total price, including the project's size, the number of rooms, the type of drawings required, and the architect's experience level. You may also need to pay a structural engineer to ensure building safety, particularly for custom homes.

Absolutely! You can tailor the design to meet your specific needs and preferences. Whether it's adding amenities, adjusting dimensions, or choosing different materials, customizing your storm shelter ensures it suits your family's requirements and offers the utmost comfort and safety during severe weather. So go ahead and create a shelter that perfectly fits your unique needs!
