"The Vanzants were a pleasure to work for. Everyone at BTS is very happy that we were able to complete their vision."
2nd. Bedroom - The same thing was done in this room like the 1st. Bedroom.
The crew arrives on time and they are very nice and professional. They leave everything clean when they are finished. The owner is very personable; he and his staff listen and they are great at delivering as promised. I get some weird remodeling ideas and they take it all in stride. I don't think there is anything that they can't do. I have a new room and I love it. They get an A++++++
Once I had the carpet and furniture installed, there was some damage to the walls from getting things down the narrow staircase; Bob sent one of his guys right out to fix everything back up, no extra charge.
Everything was great! I love my basement!
We would HIGHLY recommend BTS Contracting Inc for anyone that is looking for great contractors!
The demo and installation went quickly and very professionally, with the crew (John and Chris) being super-careful to place plastic on the doorways to minimize dust in the house. Everything went as planned - Bob had lots of suggestions along the way, until the granite top was installed. Bob noticed a tiny corner that had split a way from the slab. I would never have noticed it! But Bob insisted that we choose another piece of granite. Obviously, he is a perfectionist!
In March, BTS will be completing our Master Bath and Dressing area, as well as our Common hallway bath. Can't wait!
Our family has used Bob and his team before and highly recommend them. They are prompt, polite, accommodating, respectful of your home, and very professional. They show up on time and stay until the job is done without going back and forth between one job and another. Every afternoon when they are done for the day, they clean up. Most importantly, their work is quality and done right. If you want the least expensive contractor, go somewhere else. If you want the job done right for a fair price, use BTS.
open style recreation room. We needed to add a bedroom and a full bath and put a drywall ceiling in. I had used BTS Contracting several years ago to add a composite deck to my old house and was thrilled with the work so I
called Bob again to get a bid for this job.
I contacted Bob and told him what we wanted to do and we scheduled a day for him to come out to the house. As we walked through and told him what we wanted he was making notes and giving us his ideas along the way. There is not a lot of space in the basement. We wanted to have a livable bedroom for an older teenager but still have a separate room for a couch, TV
and chair. He gave ideas on where we could save space and how to arrange the layout to afford us the most living
space. The bathroom added a level of difficulty to the job because the half bath rough in was not where we wanted
it. Therefore, concrete had to be torn up and the drain for the toilet moved. In addition, we wanted to add a larger capacity water heater to accommodate the extra people who would now be living there. Bob made his notes and stated he would get together some ideas and get back to us.
Within a couple days Bob contacted me and said he was ready to meet to go over his estimate. He came back to the house and had several computer sketches of what he thought would give us the most room. He also had an estimate which included the aforementioned work and also replacing the windows. The windows that were previously installed were single pane and very drafty. They were adequate for a rec room but not so much for actual living space. After some very minor changes, we were satisfied with the ideas and the estimate and approved the work to be completed. As luck would have it, he had some space between jobs where his crew was able to get started fairly quickly.
On the day work was to begin, Bob and his crew (Chris and John) arrived on time. They began their work after some brief introductions. Chris has been with him for several years and seems to be Bob?s right hand man so I was familiar with him but I did not know John. All were respectful and easy going. The first several days were mostly demolition. After that they moved towards the bathroom and moving the toilet. The new bathroom was going to be located in what was currently storage. They hung plastic around all of the items and any entrances into the other parts of the house. While it wasn?t exactly sealed, it did
provide protection from the major part of the concrete dust. As I stated earlier, the moving of the toilet required them to dig through the foundation. The trench ran for about 10-12 feet in total. The plumbing was laid and was re-concreted over.
The bedroom and TV room were simple enough and there was nothing overly extravagant about their construction. The bedroom was pretty straight forward; 4 walls with a full size closet with sliding doors. The TV room was the same but with an alcove instead of a closet. Chris ran most of the electric and the cable. Cable was run into 3 different locations; one into the bedroom and 2 into the TV room. Since we were not certain which wall the TV was going to be on they ran connections down both walls for us.
We had made most of our requests in the bathroom. We wanted ceramic tile floor and a tile stand up shower. Allowances for tile, vanity, etc. were all built in to the estimate. The allowances were generous enough to give us a wide range of choices. We simply choose what we wanted and gave the list to Bob who picked it up. We gave Bob a layout of the pattern we wanted in the shower and he gave suggestions on how to tie the whole room together with the tile. We also wanted the floor tile to be on a 45 degree angle. This is where the attention to detail was going to show and he nailed it. The tile work in the bathroom was exactly what we were envisioning and then some. Not to take away from the rest of the job but this turned out to be the most impressive part of the completed project.
As with any project like this, we did run into a couple issues. As the project went on, we changed a few things mid-stream. The
change requests were taken in stride without issue. The shower door had some manufacturing defects. There were some sealant issues and it was not aesthetically pleasing. Bob noticed it and notified me by phone. Since it was going to be some time before the new door arrived, he went ahead and installed the door but ordered a new one so the shower could be used. Once the new one came in he returned and replaced the door. Another issue was with the new window in the bedroom. This one was a little more difficult to troubleshoot but he and Chris solved the problem quickly.
This was the second time I had hired BTS Contracting. I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and would hire them again for my next project. Bob and Chris did the majority of the work. They were friendly, helpful and accommodating to our requests for change. Their experience shows through their quality work and attention to detail
