"Glad I was on-site to help direct and coordinate. If not, the project would not have been completed per my and their sales team expectations. They did a great and efficient job."

"Nick and his crew were very prompt and great communicators. We had a deck replaced that had been there for a long time with a new, composite based deck. Nick took his time, offered his suggestions and even pointed out other areas that needed attention while he was going through the rebuild, saving us time, money and hassle further down the road. The Pinzone Group guys were always prompt, did what they said they were going to do, and were very reasonable with their costs. Nick listened and was very flexible when we suggested or requested non-standard items (like different color balusters, railing gate, etc...). Can't wait to do more business with them! Thank you guys!"

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.

The cost of window installation depends on several factors, including the window type, size, and frame material. Labor rates, the need for custom sizing, and any required structural modifications will also influence the final price.

When you need new windows depends on a variety of factors, including the age of your windows, the age of your home, and the climate you live in. If you’re dealing with budget constraints, you don’t need to replace all your windows simultaneously.

When buying new windows, you should consider energy efficiency, safety, and aesthetics to choose the right window for you.

The average cost to install an egress window is approximately $3,900, with a typical range between $2,500 and $5,300, though costs can be higher. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the window's size, type, material, and glass quality. Other variables include labor costs, location, excavation needs, and whether permits or a structural engineer consultation are required. The price of the window itself often depends on the number of panes:

  • Single-pane: $100–$400

  • Double-pane: $200–$500

  • Triple-pane: $300–$800

Additional features like window wells or covers will also increase the total project cost. It is advisable to obtain multiple quotes from professionals to get a comprehensive understanding of the expenses for your specific project.

Yes, you absolutely need a permit to add a window to your house. Your contractor can likely obtain this permit on your behalf. Ask about this when getting quotes from multiple window contractors.
