"We hired JP Grabenstetter after receiving three (3) quotes from contractors referred by friends. After reviewing the reviews here on Home Advisor, we felt they were the best option for basement remodeling. JPG delivered the most detailed quotation of all four quotes received. John was very good to work with from the time he first came to look the job over all the way through to completion. He explained the process they followed and the timeline. Since he was backed up with other work, we had to wait our turn in his schedule, which was not an issue for us. John's crew started right about when he said they would show up to get started and each trade came in exactly when he said they would come in. If I have any negatives about JPG, it would be the electrical work. We had detailed drawings prepared by an architect and John's crew worked off a very rudimentary drawing prepared by JPG. In the bedroom, we wanted 2 electrical outlets located on one wall such that they would be behind future night stands on either side of the bed. This was missed and I didn't catch it until the drywall was installed. We eventually worked around this. The other minor issue was a electrical box on the wall behind our wet bar. It was installed slightly tilted, which was exacerbated when I added a backsplash to that wall. Minor eyesore. Maybe it can be fixed?? The only other snafu, and not JBG fault was the cabinet supplier (who we had used in our previous house and is very good) ordered our cabinets in the wrong stain color. This caused a 2 week delay until the correct cabinets could be manufactured and shipped to the site. This also pushed the granite countertop delivery back, so a 6-week timeline ended up being 8-weeks but again, not caused by JPG. As a post note, one of our neighbors came to see our finished basement and loved it so much, he hired JPG for his basement finishing project. We heartily endorse JP Grabenstetter for your basement finishing project."

"The design that they came up with for the re-landscaping of my front yard turned out so nice. And the stone walkway and steps are beautiful. My neighbors have all commented on how nice everything looks I am actually having them do work on my backyard next year!"

"The end quality and workmanship was great! The only draw back was the height of the splash guards a bit too high. The counter got installed by the splash guards had to be trimmed and installed a few days later. Carlton does great work and delivered in the end a good installation."

"They did a great job on my vinyl flooring and kitchen counter top and backsplash. They also updated bathroom plumbing and replaced subfloor before doing the flooring. Everything looks fantastic and I would use them again."

The average cost of installing tile is around $2,000, ranging between $400 and $6,500, depending on the type of tile, square footage of tile, and whether or not your tiling contractor performs site preparation, like removing old tile. On average, you can expect to pay between $5 and $45 per square foot, largely depending on the type and quality of the tiles you choose. For example, ceramic and travertine tile cost about $1 per square foot, but luxury tile options like marble cost up to $350 per square foot, not including labor.
The cost of home remodeling is $50,000 for the average homeowner. However, this cost can range anywhere from $3,000 for a small project to $170,000 for a whole home remodel. Factors like project size, location, and room type all affect your overall cost. For example, bedroom remodeling costs are one of the least expensive projects, costing about $1,500 to $5,500 per bedroom. However, a kitchen remodel has a significant cost range, totaling anywhere from $14,500 to over $70,000.
Yes, most states require home remodeling contractors to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed home remodeling contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

Tile will almost always last longer than laminate flooring, regardless of the type of tile installed. Porcelain tile can last for 75 years or more with proper care, and even less durable ceramic tile will last for 60 years or more, provided they’re installed by a tile professional. On the other hand, laminate flooring has an average lifespan of around 20 years, and you might only get 10 to 15 years out of low-cost laminate flooring. As such, tile will add far more value to your home than laminate.
The cost to install countertops is $3,105 on average. This project cost can range from $400 to $8,500, depending on the material, edging, and countertop size.
Laminate countertops are generally the most cost-efficient, ranging from $8 to $27 per square foot. On the other hand, slate countertops are considered more luxurious and range from $30 to $90 per square foot. There are also countertop materials priced between those two, including stainless steel, granite, Corian, and wood.
