"Steve and Steven did an awesome job repairing my foundation stucco. The quality of the repair is top notch and it looks great. They got every detail and beyond. Explained why/how things happen and how to maintain the foundation going forward. The clean up was impeccable! They were very nice people to have on my property. I couldn't be happier that I hired them."

"I had 4 large rooms and high ceilings, even a mural to cover, patching in a few places, and cove base to replace and accent wall in every room. Everything was clean and done in two days. I'm blown away at the timelyness and the quality of the work. I have a much bigger project ahead including things outside of the painting that involves construction items and I will be using them again in the future."

"We cannot say enough great things about Tristate Complete Home Repair! We just finished up a partial renovation of the interior of our Hoosier Homestead farmhouse, and Tristate did a fabulous job! The house had spent decades under the care of our aging parents, so it needed a lot of careful attention to update nearly everything without compromising the unique historical beauty of the house. Owner Tim of Tristate brought decades of renovation experience to our project, leading a crew of workers representing all the trades. This meant fewer delays and mistakes on our project. No regrets here. We look forward to future work from Tristate!"

"We've had Dadstasks do a number of projects for us over the past 6 years and they have always been very reliable, friendly, and efficient with the work done well at a reasonable price. We asked them if they could come over quickly to replace a few bathroom tiles that had come off. Not only did they do so quickly, and did nice work with the sealant and wall & trim paint touch-ups too, but they did the work for free. Such a pleasant surprise, which is indicative of the caring they have for their customers."

"This is a family run business. They were wonderful. Jose bid on the job and was ready to start within a week. He gave me a great quote. Negotiated a price but I gave him a $200 tip as they were clean, friendly, courteous, and respected my property. They taped everything that they needed to tape for painting. They even replaced soffit light bulbs that I supplied at no cost. They also replaced a 6 x 6” banister on my front steps and painted it and it is professionally done. I’m very happy with their work. I plan on hiring them again to do some interior Painting."

"Excellent work.  David (salesman) was professional and easy to work with - extremely responsive and easy to reach.  The two workers were friendly and willing to explain what was going on with the damage to the chimney and how and why they do what they do to make the repairs.  As they tore down the existing chimney they showed me four cracked sections of flue liner.  They protected the roof, arrived on time and the estimated duration of the project was accurate - 5 working days.  At first I thought the price was a little high but after receiving another bid and doing some research I learned the price was in line with what it takes to perform this type of work.  They anticipated replacing 1or 2 sections of flue liner and I expected an add to the price when I learned they had to replace 4 sections of flue liner - they did not ask for additional money.  The brick match was great.  I was concerned about this since the brick is 35 years old.  I would highly recommend Hicon."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Stucco will dry in two to three days, but you should wait one to two months to allow it to cure fully before you paint it. The curing process is slow, but leaving the material exposed to air and natural moisture will help it reach its maximum strength. If you live in a hot, arid climate, wait a month before painting. Wait two months before painting if you live in a more moderate or wet climate.

The decision to repair or replace stucco depends on the extent of the damage. For minor issues like small cracks, holes, dirt, stains, or discoloration, a repair is typically sufficient and more cost-effective. These issues can often be resolved with a simple repair, a deep clean, and possibly a new coat of paint. However, for more significant problems such as large cracks, peeling, mold, algae, or structural water damage, a replacement might be necessary. In these cases, it is best to call a professional stucco contractor for an inspection. An expert can assess the severity of the damage, determine if there are deeper issues, and advise whether a repair is adequate or if replacing a section or an entire wall is the more cost-effective, long-term solution.

Choosing between traditional and synthetic stucco depends on your specific needs, budget, and climate. Both options are durable, but synthetic stucco includes an extra layer that makes it more resistant to cracking and a better choice for climates with extreme weather. In hot, dry climates with less rainfall, traditional stucco is a suitable and more affordable option that is less likely to trap moisture. Synthetic stucco also offers more color options and requires less maintenance.

Damage is often caused by moisture, impact, or settling. Regular maintenance prevents significant issues.

Yes, you can screw directly into stucco. Only do so if the item you are installing is a permanent fixture. Drill a pilot hole into the stucco using a masonry or concrete bit, then drive in the screw with a power drill or screwdriver.
