"I made the arrangements over the phone. They came during the day, while I was at work. After work, I took a look where the nest had been, and there wasn't a trace of the nest afterwards. Each of these traps will attract remaining gnats and keep them from spreading.

Using bird netting over your seed, with physical deterrents like mylar tape coupled with hanging bird feeders at the edges of your growing area—and removing any bird’s nests, if possible—will give your seeds the best possible chance for success.
