"I got some windows from Power and LOVE their work so we ordered 2 doors too. The doors are amazing and they were very professional and courteous during the install. I continue to be impressed by Power and will continue to reach out to them as needs come up."

"We also had an awning installed, window work and down spouts replaced. Every crew that was sent was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Sales staff was also knowledgeable, friendly, and no hard selling. It was a very positive experience. I highly recommend them and won't hesitate to use them again."

"My first negative review. Read previous reviews about owner having issues with answering service. I called two days in a row around 8:30am. Left all my info and it was read back to me by the service to ensure accuracy. I also noted that the owner had commented on previous negative reviews here in Angies list about issues with the service and he had left his cell phone number. I also texting that number regarding my situation, request for service and the fact that I had also called his company number and left messages. Still, no call back. I know everyone is busy in this economy but just advise if you are not taking on new business via your answering service. UPDATE: Clancey, the owner, recently followed up, albeit over a week later. Adjusting rating to a C based on follow up."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

The screen on many screen doors is held in place by screen spline. Screen spline is typically a thin vinyl tubing that fits into the groove of the door’s frame and holds the screen in place. To install the spline on a screen door, you’ll need a spline roller—a tool that presses the spline and screen into the door’s narrow groove. Note that old spline can crack and break, so replacing your screens is a good time to replace the spline, too.

A screened-in porch requires maintenance to keep the screens clean and in good shape, and you may have to do some screen repair or replacement from time to time. A screen porch isn’t an all-season porch, so the weather can get in, including wind and rain.

Typically every 10-15 years or whenever they show signs of wear and tear.

Installing a basement window generally takes a few hours, assuming there are no structural issues you need to resolve first. If you’re a novice DIYer, the project could take longer; on the flip side, a licensed and trained window contractor may be able to replace multiple basement windows in the time it takes a homeowner to replace one.

Garage door screens can expand your living space, turning a garage into a home office, gym, or entertainment space. They provide comfortable ventilation, insect control, and privacy, allowing you to enjoy your space all year round. Consult a local garage door screen installer to add this feature to your space.
