I have niche for making homes, spaces and older or even newer objects look beautiful and period correct depending on individual preferences. I have been in the trade and mastering my craft for 20 or so years. I collect antiques that often need a renewed appreciation. I am a father of five and have a wonderful wife who helps with the modern tech part of my jobs; I consider myself old fashioned. I remodel and restore homes, businesses,bikes, furniture and cars, i definitely appreciate the older things. My process entails finish, decorative, structural, and mechanical elements to complete the final product or project. I have restored the square of Medina and the surrounding Victorian homes. I travel all over Ohio for my work. Restoring and returning things to their time, natural state of origin, or creating them the way you envision has become something I take a real passion and patience for so I like to believe I am confident I can do that for you without breaking the bank believe it or not and within time limits. So please give us a try if you are in need of a change, some fresh paint, or something you need mended and fixed. If you have old wood floors and are contemplating vinyl flooring or covering it with carpet, consider having me take a gander. Plenty of times people have beautiful flooring just waiting to continue living out their intended and in my opinion, much better purpose for you!! It would be a shame to cover sturdy, superior floors with dull lifeless vinyl or carpet that can hold crud. There is so much I could possibly do to keep them sustainable and affordable believe it or not! IKEA kitchens are my specialty, and has been for the last two decades, across northern Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and West Virginia and New Jersey too. It's all I do. IKEA Kitchens are a great value, and you'll keep more money in your pocket than you would with other brands. The quality, fit and finish are very good- I've visited kitchens I've installed 20 years ago and they're still in good condition (my clients know they can reach me anytime after their install should issues arise!). IKEA uses only Blum hardware for door hinges and drawer glides- the best of the best. But IKEA kitchens demand a high degree of precision and has to be installed with this in mind, especially when incorporating wall ovens, micro drawers or other built-in appliances such as Fisher-Paykel, Miehle, etc. Give me a call or send an email about your project! "Erik was hired to install IKEA cabinets in our home for a full kitchen renovation. I felt confident in assembling the cabinets and finishing them (doors, hardware, drawers, toe kicks, etc) but we wanted a professional to make sure the cabinets were hung level, plumb, and square. From our first conversation it was obvious that Erik is an expert in all things IKEA. He provided some guidance and changes to our design to make some subtle improvements that would not have been obvious to us. He also immediately identified a critical flaw in our design that would have greatly impacted the final outcome but luckily we had enough time to get the proper replaced item. Communication with Erik was decent but be prepared for patience with emails and texts. Phone calls seemed to be most effective. Also be prepared to be patient for his schedule. Despite our efforts to plan ahead and get on “his radar” back in July, it still took several rounds of calls and discussions to finally get a week nailed down and the arrival day wasn’t determined until the week-of. You will need to be flexible. The installation was very fast - he had all of the work completed in one day. He is also very precise and detailed. He took time to show me how cabinets were anchored to the wall, that cabinets were level and prepped for the countertop template. He also cleaned up nicely, was courteous in our home and has a professional demeanor. The installation wasn’t without issue though. He accidentally stepped on a weak piece of our corner cabinet and broke it. His solution was to “sister” a piece below it. I was told it wouldn’t affect the countertops as this had no load bearing properties and it won’t be visible once countertops are installed. I believe that he is correct, and accidents happen, but it was disappointing as mishaps was something I wanted to avoid and large reason why we elected to hire someone rather than do the installation ourselves. No adjustment was made to the agreed upon price to account for the broken cabinet which I felt would have been the appropriate thing to do even it was a minor reduction. Overall, I would hire Erik again and be better prepared to be patient and clearly a communicate my expectations. He is precise, detailed, and very knowledgeable on IKEA systems. His involvement resulted in a nice overall outcome."
