"The crew arrived at 8:20 AM on Thursday August 14, 2014. They surveyed the area of responsibility. immediately began the methodical preparations necessary like edging the grass lines, digging the depth to blend into the existing driveway and cut out the area that required more detailed attention and lastly checked the drainage to make sure any rain drains down and out on my proporty versus the neighbor. The the workers including the owner worked very hard to complete the task and finishe by 1:20 Pm the same day. In fact, they did such a great job I invited them back to complete my backyard patio.

"EXCELLENT! Vince and his crew began Monday morning tearing out the old asphalt driveway, continued Tuesday, graded fixed sewer problem, set forms Wednesday and Thursday and poured the whole driveway beginning at 8 AM Friday morning and finishing by 2 PM.(!) On Saturday, Vince was back cutting in expansion slots and Monday will return to pull his forms."

"They were one of the first to come out and quote our job. They came out in a timely manner and left the information, but their quote was so low that it really didn't seem to fit the scope of the job so they didn't do any work for us."

"I was very pleased with the work and customer service. Frank kept me very informed each step of the process. Frank also provided a fair estimate and did the work for the price quoted. The team was timely, respectful and cleaned the work site upon leaving. I would highly recommend them."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

This creates a risk for your driveway to fail after asphalt curing because it doesn't have a lasting bond with the surface. In order to get asphalt to perform as intended, it's necessary to prepare the dirt surface correctly first. The loose soil base under the new driveway must be compacted until it is stable enough to support the weight of the asphalt.

In terms of durability, concrete driveways can last more than 50 years when properly maintained, compared to the typical 30 years for an asphalt driveway. However, the durability depends on the climate, base material and thickness, and thickness of the concrete or asphalt used. The longevity of concrete or asphalt driveways also depends on how well it’s maintained and the amount of wear and tear it endures.

With proper maintenance, asphalt milling driveways can last 30 years or more. Over time, you’ll need to regularly sealcoat your driveway. You should also have your driveway inspected every few years and make any repairs as soon as they are necessary; this will prolong the lifespan of your driveway.

While some areas may allow for a slope of up to 20%, this is often the maximum slope for driveways, with a few exceptions of up to 25%. Other regions may have a maximum of 12%, 15%, or 18%, so check with your local building department to ensure you’re laying a driveway that is up to code for your location.

Several materials are suitable for steep driveways. Gravel and crushed stone are affordable options that provide good traction. Permeable pavers—such as plastic, rubber, or concrete—filled with gravel or crushed stones are also excellent, as they allow water to drain without causing erosion and perform well in ice and snow. Another option is resin, which can be coated with an anti-slip finish and helps prevent puddles. For added stability, you can install a retaining wall to prevent pavers and gravel from shifting over time.
