"Siding and gutters look great. No pressure from sales rep. Lower price than competitors and didn’t try to sell me what I didn’t need. Had some structural issues with my house they found and helped me get it fixed so they could complete the job. House looks so different people think I tore old one down and rebuilt!"

"The work was done on the scheduled day, the team arrived on time. they worked VERY hard each day (it took two days), and attempted to keep the dust contained. This would be my one issue with the job they did. They encapsulated the area they would use to gain access to the house, and to reach the basement. They attempted to encapsulate all the "stuff" I had stored in the basement. They were only partially successful. They left gaps in the encapsulation into which large amounts of cement dust drifted and settled on everything. They did have a big filter running during the job, and swept the floor quite well before they left. Still the entire basement had to be wiped down and vacuumed using a HEPA type filter. We thought we understood the scope of the dust that would be created - we were woefully mistaken. I blame myself for not being more aware of the encapsulating they were doing. I am confident that if I had asked for more plastic wrap, they would had done it. Bottom line - it is a very messy job, and you need to get involved in the encapsulation process Would I recommend them to my friends - definitely.. The leak I had in my basement (the reason they did the work) has not returned, and the basement looks good. They are an excellent company with a good product, many years of experience, good reviews, excellent team members, and very responsive to your questions. Just be prepared for a big time clean up."

"Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value I took multiple bids on my basement project across basement companies in Columbus. Mid state basement systems had the best and most fair pricing. They did not use any scare tactics and were upfront and honest. They were also the only company to use a laser level and show me the sag difference in my joists that I was experiencing. I hired mid-state basement systems to do crawl space support and repair on my load bearing wall in my basement. MY PROBLEM WAS UNIQUE AS LOAD BEARING WALLS NORMALLY DO NOT NEED TO BE REPAIRED LIKE THIS! At first, it was not level upon completion (BARELY 1/8 INCH OFF) in ONE spot and I let my sales rep Jiovanni know. the team came back out within 48 hrs and adjusted everything and let me take a look at it. They did a fantastic job. The installation crew even wiped down my floors for me after they were done! They were so polite, and respectful and made sure there was no damage to anything as they were moving steel beams to my basement ( my fridge was an object in the way to the basement door ) Do not let competitors make you question the validity of this business. they were fantastic. Rating of sales 5/5 Rating of the installation crew 5/5 Rating of management 5/5 Rating of mid-state as a company : 10/5 I do not believe I would have received this level of responsiveness of any of the competitors. I would choose mid-state basements for any basement project I had. Please use my review to know that mid-state basement systems will do the job the right way and how you need it to be done. In my experience, they offer the most fair pricing."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

Costs range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the size and condition of the area.

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.
