I called HomeSpec for an estimate on a leak in the corner of my basement. During the inspection, the sales rep damaged four pieces of paneling, several ceiling tiles, and the frame holding the ceiling tiles in. He made a big mess to say the least. When I called the company to ask for the repairs to be made, the company refused to cover the damage and would not acknowledge any fault. This was a year ago and we are still trying to get the company to repair the damage to my basement. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

This project went about as well as I could have hoped for. Their sales contact was very informative and took the time to explain how this process works. Their prices were on the lower end of the quotes I had received. All in about $7,000 to waterproof my entire basement. They were professional, timely, and communicative. I felt like I was in very good hands. One year later, my basement has not had a single leak. I may soon be hiring them again for another project. This company is solid! I highly recommend them.

Having previously contracted HomeSpec once before, I recommended them to my mother-in-law to repair a leaking rod hole. Instead, the sales person tried to sell her a $17,000 interior drainage package that would have caused major damage to her finished basement. Ultimately she hired a different contractor who repaired the rod hole and an exterior masonry problem for $250, their minimum charge.

It went great, from the pitch to completion. I appreciated the pressure free quote and John D and his crew who did the work were great. They worked hard from the moment they got here at 8am until they left at 5pm. They kept me involved in the process, saw some potential issues and made a recommendation to solve it, went with that recommendation and couldn't be happier with the result. Even down to the cleanup after, exceeded my expectations.

As a homeowner, this was an unpleasant, loud, dirty and expensive project, but everyone I had contact with from HomeSpec throughout the project was helpful and responsive. The project was managed professionally. The workers went out of their way to minimize the inconvience. Any problems I had were immediately addressed. I have no reservations recommending this company.

We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. We have a small house in Romeo that was built in the late 1800s. Our basement was in bad shape. All of the beams and support poles were wood and the majority of them were either sagging or cracking. We had one contractor tell us that no one was going to want the repair work, another basement repair contractor said that it was way beyond their capabilities and a different one came in and whipped up a $20k estimate within an hour and got pushy when we didn’t want to hand over a deposit. Then we found HomeSpec... Bobby from HomeSpec walked in and said he absolutely wanted our business but wanted us to have a structural engineer come in first so he could properly quote it and provide us with appropriate solution. Bobby provided us with a list of structural engineers and even called one of them up so we would have an idea of how much it would cost to get a report. We were so impressed with his sincere desire to help us. Bobby came back with a manager after we got the structural engineering report and spent over two hours with us one evening getting a plan together. Two months later, the work began on time and was completed within the 5 day time period that they had promised us. The foreman, Roger, and all of the crew were extremely professional and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions and kept us in the loop throughout the entire process. We just had the local building inspector come out for the final walk-through and he was thoroughly impressed with the finished work. He said that whoever did the work was someone he would be happy to hire to do work at his own home. From start to finish, HomeSpec went above and beyond and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

These guys were great. We had several quotes, theirs was by far the best because they didn't try to "upsell" other services we didn't need [something ALL the other companies did]. They suggested other fixes we could do if this initial work wasn't enough to fix all our drainage issues, but suggested we take it in stages so we didn't do more than necessary. Very smart - and very appreciated because it saved us a lot of money!

The team at HomeSpec was great to deal with all the way through, very knowledgeable, fair and honest. The sales rep didn't try to "upsell" or pressure us at any point, and had a lot of great, low-cost suggestions to help us out with an eye to not "over fixing" things that might not need to be addressed. We took it a step at a time, and the first fix they recommended did the trick!

I had several quotes for a fairly extensive leak in my poured basement wall resulting from poor workmanship during the original construction. Several contractors told me the foundation would have to be dug up to do a proper repair. I was hoping for another solution so I called this company. They came out to look and I was immediately impressed with their professionalism and candor. The first rep did not try to pressure sell me and even expressed skepticism that they could fix the problem. He called in other resources from the company to inspect it and offer their assessments. After careful examination and consultation with each other they determined that sealing the wall from the inside was feasible. I waited until now to write this review so I could be honest about how it turned out. Well, it hasn't leaked a drop! I would recommend this company to anybody. They earned my trust and they saved me a lot of money and grief.

I recently purchased a home and the inspector recommended I get the foundation inspected. Bobby Whitus inspected my crawl space and he was very professional. He did not find any problems with the foundation (so honest!). He was polite, treated my house with respect, and if I need additional services, I would definitely use this company again.

They were great-The crew that came here-( John-Dave and Richie) went above and beyond- they were polite-knew all about their system and answered all questions-fixed a few other problems that I asked that weren't in contract-they were great with my little dog and careful not to ruin anything- They explained everything and I always knew what was happening! I was impressed!

Properly figured out the problem as crack in my basement wall that required filling. Another company tried to get me to do additional unnecessary fixes that would have cost thousands more.
