Small jobs welcome

"HomeSmiles did a wonderful job! We have a 2-story brick home & a separate garage with gutters. Chris arrived on time, eager to get to work. He uses a powerful vacuum system. It had been a LONNNG time since the upper gutters were cleaned, so Chris had his work cut out for him. Our neighbor has a huge oak tree & several large pine trees. His home is to the west of ours, so the wind brings most of the debris to our house and yard. Those nasty pine needles had embedded themselves under the edge of our gutter guards, and over time, they became almost like a thatch roof! Chris was very thorough, took the time required, and managed to remove all of the leaves, pine needles, sticks, and pine cones from the eaves and the downspouts! It was NOT an easy job! I waited until we had a substantial rainfall before writing my review, and he passed with flying colors! HomeSmiles' price was very reasonable, and we now have a regular schedule for them to clean our gutters 2x annually."

House Cleaning questions, answered by experts

One of the best ways to prepare for a home biohazard cleanup is not to touch anything. Do not remove belongings, even if they are of value or importance, from the area as they are likely contaminated. It’s essential not to use any cleaning products of your own, as the cleaning company will be using chemicals that could interact with your products.

One thing you can do to prepare is take pictures of your space and belongings that need to be cleaned, especially if you plan on filing a claim with your insurance company. In addition, take time to make a list of items that are valuable, sentimental, or otherwise important. The cleanup company must evaluate these belongings to make sure they are safe.

The best thing to clean bathrooms with is an all-purpose cleaner, a mixture of white vinegar and water (50:50 ratio), and a glass cleaner for mirrors and glass surfaces. You can also use baking soda on areas with soap residue or mildew. The best tool to clean a bathroom depends on the specific task, but a sponge and a fresh towel are versatile options.

Housekeepers use a range of products to clean bathrooms, including vinegar, all-purpose spray, toilet bowl cleaner, and glass cleaner. Some house cleaners use bleach products, while others may provide an option for all-natural products. You can certainly speak to your cleaning pro to discuss which products you prefer they use in your bathroom.

Clean baseboards about once a month alongside the rest of your monthly home cleaning checklist. Dust likes to tumble from the ceilings, walls, and drapes to the floor but often gets caught on the baseboard on its way down. Remove loose dust at least once a month and give it a deeper scrub during your annual spring cleaning.

Luckily, you can typically eliminate your microwave’s burnt smell within a few hours for most situations. Be sure to let it air out for two to three hours after cleaning to let the odor evacuate your home—if you close your home up too early, the odor will be trapped. For stronger, more stubborn burnt smells, it might take a full day or more to really notice a difference.
