"We got ourselves in a real problem with a driveway washing out and the area being overtaken with honeysuckle. Rob came in, developed a plan, prepared the site, schedule the material and got the job done! He worked so efficiently and the price was excellent. Rob really does great work and can be totally trusted to get the job done."

Small jobs welcome

"Brock responded to our posting in a timely fashion. He provided a spreadsheet detailing the job's components and the costs of each part. He arrived on the date agreed upon and commenced working right away. He explained everything as the job progressed. When unforeseen problems arose when he removed the existing steps, he provided a video of the area under the steps so I could see for myself. His workmanship is skilled and precise; his attention to details is outstanding. The new paint on our railings was a perfect match with the original and extended to painting the heads of the bolts on the brackets holding the railings in place. The end result was far better than we had expected."

"John and his son resurfaced my balcony floor. They took it from a pitted, stained, peeling, and damaged concrete floor to a smooth, clean, and beautiful surface. John's work has enhanced my entire home because the balcony can be seen from the entire living area. Both John and his son were a pleasure to have at my home and were very professional. My family said, "You sure found the right man for the job.""

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Depth is not a qualifying component of evacuation. Any human-made cut, cavity, or depression in the earth’s surface is considered excavation. The hole from excavation can be any size, shape, or depth. Excavation is used to create foundations, reservoirs, drainage ditches, and roads. Long, narrow excavations are called trenches and are often used for underground utilities.

While general contractors sometimes handle demolition, you can also look specifically for local demolition contractors. Demolition experts need to understand structural integrity, the equipment needed for safe demolition, and the permits required for demolition.

If you don’t have a crawl space but have a partial basement you want to make deeper, you can expect to spend a little less—between $40,000 and $90,000 on average. However, if you’re not adding new finished square footage, you won’t see much in the way of ROI.

There is no standard depth for burying a septic tank; they are typically buried anywhere from 4 inches to 4 feet underground. The final depth depends on several factors, including the depth of your main sewer line, the height of the bedrock, soil type, local regulations, and the property's landscape. If you plan to grow grass or plants over the tank, a depth of at least 4 to 6 inches is recommended. Deeper tanks can be more difficult to locate, but a septic professional can help find it for you.

The cost to repair a crawl space runs between $1,500 and $15,000, depending on the extent of the damage. Major flooding or water repairs can cost up to $10,000 for removal and repairs. If you simply need to clean your crawl space, expect to pay between $2,000 and $6,000 for a major cleanout. Replacing a crawl space beam due to rot or damage can cost between $1,500 and $5,000, while removing and replacing damaged insulation costs between $1,000 and $4,000.
