"Chris, plumbing technician, was excellent. Came as scheduled, spent about and hour. Thorough job, demonstrated that it was done properly, double-checked draining and connections for me to see without complaint after I asked him to. Neat, clean, friendly. I would give an A+ on service. Price of $274 seems too high, per Angie's list guidelines. Service was basic kitchen sink drain clearage, including use of 35-foot snake. Elsewhere on Angie's site I read: "Cost to snake a drain Manny Vega, president and owner of All Drain Services in Dracut, Massachusetts, says his company charges a flat-rate fee to snake drains. They charge $195 for kitchen sinks and $170 for bathroom sinks and tubs. While price varies depending on the market and the severity of the clog, Young from Legacy Plumbing says the average cost to clear a tub, kitchen or bathroom drain runs $109 to $214. Removing a clog from a laundry drain costs between $151 to $214, and remedying a toilet clog ranges from $109 to $273. All jobs include a $50 service fee.""

"Tom took the time to contact me before the job to gather information on the parts needed and to ensure that we would be prepared. He did a great job and in a short amount of time! Unfortunately the work required doubled due to our drain being clogged, but he took care of that as well within a reasonable time."

"Chris showed up sharp at 8am. He ran the system diagnostic and performed a rigorous inspection. Pointed out the manufacturer defects and installation flaw as well. Reviewed all materials with me and gave me the opportunity to ask questions. He pointed the heat exchanger crack is the TRANE’s known issue and covered by them until January of 2025. Dirty blower wheel is due to improper installation…left a huge gap at the other end of filter housing. He said Logan will clean the wheel for free because it was installed incorrectly (left a wide gap from where all the dirt and dust is sucked up even after the filter). He said it is company’s responsibility to do the right job and assured me that Logan will call to schedule to take care that issue free of charge. Hoping to get it fixed ASAP."
Logan A/C & Heat Services offered value, competitive pricing, top of the line Trane equipment, nice financing options that other companies did not offer. Dan was my sales rep that offered the above services. Bobby was the installer & was professional & did a great job. Install was scheduled on a Monday after I committed on a Friday; so very quick! "The deceptive no fee for showing up at your home means you get to pay what amounts to a diagnosis fee of $200+. You are then charged an exorbitant amount for repair services. The service rep that actually did the work was very good at explaining the job and repairing the leaking pipe."

"Everydry solved the water intrusion problem in our crawl space by fixing the problem at the source and not just fixing the symptoms. Crew arrived on time as scheduled each day and completed the installation under cold and rainy conditions. Drain lines and a sump pump were installed as well as the waterproofing. The system is working fine. Thanks for a great job!"

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

If you drop jewelry down your sink, it can cause a clog, especially if it accumulates other debris on its way down. However, that is the least of your worries if you drop your favorite jewelry down your drain. If your gold band goes tumbling down the sink drain, don’t panic—refrain from running more water down the sink, and follow the steps above.

There are many things that could cause your basement floor drain to back up. One significant cause of a drainage backup is flushing non-flushable items, such as wipes, paper towels, and facial tissue. Other causes of a backed-up basement floor drain include tree roots impeding the drain pipe or an accumulation of hair, oil, and grease.

A two-way cleanout can help if there’s already a clog, but the best strategy to prevent one is by not rinsing grease, oil, or fat down your drains, not flushing or rinsing coffee grounds or egg shells down your drains, flushing only human waste and toilet paper (so no diapers, period products, bathroom wipes, or paper towels), and using drain guards on all of your drains.

In the majority of cases, homeowners insurance will not cover a main sewer line root clog. The reason is that most insurance companies consider tree root damage to sewer lines as common wear and tear, which is also preventable. However, you may be able to buy optional add-on coverage, such as "service line coverage" or "sewer line endorsements," that would protect against root damage to your sewer line.

While some chemical drain cleaners with hydrochloric acid can dissolve hair, this method is not recommended as it can also destroy your plumbing pipes. A common DIY alternative is using baking soda and vinegar, which can help break down the clog but will not actually dissolve the hair. The best and safest method for clearing a hair clog is to remove it manually. You can use a drain snake, a straightened wire hanger with pliers to fish out the clog, or have a plumber use a professional auger for more severe blockages.
