"Highly recommend. Also have used them for duct work. Today I had a gas rep tell me I had a gas leak. Schneller and Knochelman came out to verify because they could tell I was upset. Made a special stop on his way home and gave this novice homeowner advice on where to go next. I trust them and refuse to use anyone else!"

"I needed someone to hook up the gas line to a new gas dryer. I felt that $125 was overpriced for simply hooking things up and testing for leaks, but in all fairness Lowe's charges the same through their contractor and I couldn't find a more competitive price."

"Our sump pump failed, and the whole basement flooded. Robert was prompt, and replaced the sump pump along with a battery backup. He is professional, honest, friendly, and reasonably priced. He answered all our questions, and made recommendations for our situation. I was very happy with his service, and will definitely call him for my future needs!"

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

On average, a gas grill can last from five to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends on several factors, including the brand and quality of the grill, frequency of use, and whether the gas line is buried or above ground. With proper maintenance and care, such as regular deep cleanings to remove food, grease, and carbon deposits, a grill's life can be extended. Protecting the grill from the elements with a cover can also prevent rust and reduce the need for repairs. Most grill manufacturers also offer extended warranties, which vary in coverage and terms.

The cost of a gas grill burner ranges from $10 to $100 or more, depending on the brand. If you’re replacing one burner, consider replacing all the burners simultaneously. Although it will cost more upfront, it will save you the hassle of replacing a burner every few months, and your grill will cook more evenly and efficiently.

The difference between a built-in and regular grill is installation and design. A built-in grill is integrated into an outdoor kitchen or structure, often within a countertop or island. It is a permanent fixture. A regular grill is standalone, portable, or cart-mounted, allowing mobility and versatility in placement. Built-in grills are typically larger with more cooking space, while regular grills come in various sizes. Built-in grills are favored for creating a custom outdoor cooking area, while regular grills provide convenience and flexibility.

While it’s possible to repair minor grill issues like replacing a burner, more serious issues are clear indicators that you need to replace the entire unit. A few signs that your gas grill may be at the end of its life span and it’s time to consider replacing it include:

  • Rusty or cracked firebox

  • Weak, yellow, or uneven flames

  • Flaking, cracking grates

  • Leaking or cracked propane hoses

  • Failing igniter

  • Heavy buildup of grease

Yes, professional services include proper fuel line connection and ventilation to meet safety codes.
