DBA can service or repair any gas fireplace unit. Our national certified technicians have serviced over 10,000 units in the greater Cincinnati area. We carry a large inventory of parts on our trucks. Our goal is to fix your fireplace on our first attempt.

"The company came out to clean my gas logs and were on time and very professional. I had never had a gas fireplace before so he explained a lot of things to me. He then told me about the option of installing a hood to the fireplace which would distribute heat throughout the house. I decided to have it installed and it has already paid for itself in one year! Highly recommend this comanpy and will use them again!!"

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

This is a matter of personal preference, as each method has its own pros and cons. Oil furnaces are safer, but the smell can be off-putting to some consumers. Oil is also more expensive than gas. However, oil furnaces boast a higher BTU rate per hour, so a smaller amount of oil can heat a larger space when compared to a gas furnace.

In most cases, a gas stove should be installed by a licensed plumber. Connecting gas appliances carries many risks, chief among them a fatal gas leak. If your home is already set up with the proper gas hookups, you may be able to DIY the installation (or save money by hiring a local handyperson or basic appliance installer near you rather than a plumber). If you’re ever in doubt, however, we recommend going with a professional master plumber.

Take this one seriously! If your oven smells like gas when it’s off, this is a telltale sign of a gas leak that can lead to a fire or explosion. In addition, a small leak has the potential to turn into a major leak without warning if any part of your piping or tubing breaks. Potential sources of a leak include the gas valve, burner, joint, or connection lines behind the stove. If the leak appears to be significant, you should contact the gas company or fire department.

The cost to repair a gas leak is $120 to $250 on average, but it could be as costly as $5,000, depending on the leak location and severity.

For example, if you have drywall covering the source of the leak, you'll need to hire a contractor to replace the removed drywall. In addition, if the leak is underground, you'll need a contractor to excavate the ground to reach the gas line.

In some ways, yes, and in some ways, no. As for how they’re the same, propane and gas both burn via the same process, combustion, and at the same temperature, around 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit. The difference is that propane produces more heat per unit than gas. One cubic foot of propane contains 2,516 BTU, while one cubic foot of gas contains 1,030 BTU.
